Default Cuttlebug Stacking for QuicKutz 4x8

I just purchased the 4x8 QuicKutz Number Die and for the life of me cannot get it to cut in my Cuttlebug. It won't cut all the way thru. I have tried the combination of 2 B plates and shims and also 1 B plate and 1 C plate and they cut but not all the way. I also have tried thin scrapbook paper and also cardstock. Anyone have any suggestions? Deeply appreciated!

I don't have a Cuttlebug so I don't have any advice about the sandwich. I do, however, have SEVERAL 4x8 Quickutz dies.

a: try removing the extra foam from around the numbers on the 4x8 die.
b: if you are using SU paper, try switching to a less heavy paper. Something more like Bazzill.
c: the Quickutz dies always come with a shim. Just looks like a clear piece of tape or something but generally fits the back of the die (flat side). Try adding that if the other suggestions don't work.

Other than that, all I could suggest is playing around with the sandwich to see if you can get a better cut.

Some of the QK 4x8 dies are a bear to cut though the letters/numbers the middle of the die. The whole die will cut/miscut due to the middle of the die being wonky.

Sometimes putting a 2-3 inch strip of tape down the middle of the die (horizontally) gives the middle enough bulk to cut properly. (flat side of the die) Start with masking tape and move up to something thicker, like duct tape, if needed.

You can try just a paper shim down the middle, too. If the paper shim works, you know it's a thickness problem and can then put tape on the die so you don't have to use a paper shim all the time.

The nice thing about trying this is that if it doesn't work, you just peel off the tape and try something else.
