Who is buying the Crop a Dile II??

I am trying to decide if I should buy the Crop a Dile II. I am trying to make a poll so you can help me decide, if it doesn't work then just tell me on this thread. I do love the Crop a Dile I, but, I buy anything new. Does this new one work on regular eyelets?

Yes, I am buying the Crop a Dile II and you should too.

No, Don't need it.

Haven't decided yet either.

wendalyn 01-10-2008 01:30 PM

I'm just keeping the regular one and my guess is the 2nd one works with both size eyelets also. Only advantage on it is that it extends farther but i only make cards no scrapbooks so wouldn't work any better than what i have for me.

theresalaird 01-10-2008 01:31 PM

I bought it because its seems even more user friendly than the other style. Plus it has another two features like a longer reach and it puts grommets in! And to answer your question YES it still does regular eyelets. The new one does the same things as the old one but has the new features I mentioned above. Good luck with your decision.

I bought it because I also like the longer reach and the fact that it puts grommets in. It took me sometime to make up my mind because I also have the first one. But, I decided I couldn't loose.

maryjo2 01-10-2008 01:55 PM

I ordered one today from HSN. I have a couple of reasons for it, first off I have arthritis and a bone spur in my thumb joint, so even though the original is easy to use, sometimes I just have too much pain to squeeze it. Second, I scrapbook and mostly do 12x12 albums. I'm excited to get it.

Erin K 01-10-2008 02:41 PM

I voted no, but I don't need it, I don't know if you need it. :)

frankie 01-10-2008 02:51 PM

Not me. At least not yet. I'd rather get it locally without all the grommets & eyelets. I'm sure Robert's will have it in a while and I'll wait to use a coupon . . . IF I think I'll use it enough to justify getting it. Plus it will need to be stored somewhere and it looks big and heavy so I'm still on the fence.

Kiko 01-10-2008 03:03 PM

I bought it, but I wouldn't go so far as to say you should too. That's between you and your credit card!

heather30 01-10-2008 03:18 PM

I kept flipping back to hsn or qvc whichever it was on and almost got sucked in BUT......I'm really trying to be good this year. I have never really thought about grommets, so I doubt I would use them that much. I have a silent setter that can go anywhere I want a hole, and if I still want it you know that lss will have it with coupons in a few months! Now I don't know if I'll be so good on the 15th--PTI new release!

airbornewife 01-10-2008 03:25 PM

I do like the idea of being able to reach further with it.. however I have never done any scrapbooking so if I did want to set an eyelet in the middle of the pager, I'd use my Silent Setter to do so.. I have never used grommets so I don't know much about them.. for those with disabilities, this I would say is a must have.. makes it where those that couldn't set eyelets before because of MS or arthritis, this would be super easy for them to use. What sold me is the ability to decorate the middle areas of the metal buckets and containers. I love the way they look and as we move toward spring (hopefully!) I like to give flowers in the tin buckets. I am excited to get it and can't wait to get it "on or about Feb. 5th!"

Cindygrammy2 01-10-2008 05:30 PM

Well I bit the bullet and bought one. I bought the case also. It will get here about 2 weeks before the CAD, LOL!! So I guess I will look at those for awhile. I am waiting for 9:00 to come around so I can see one being used, I couldn't get the video on their site to work. I also buy every gadget known to man, that's why I needed everyone's input. Thanks for all of your answers!!

Marleigha 01-10-2008 05:33 PM

I THINK I LIVE UDER A ROCK NOW!!!

I have ony used brads never used eyelets. which is easier to use the crop-a-dile or the silent setter. Boy, o I feel sheltered. L.O.L.

g33kgr1 01-10-2008 06:11 PM

I'm into sewing, so this is really tempting! To be able to put snaps in the middle of a purse flap and put holes through leather... fun, fun! But I think I'll wait since I already have a CAD.

schug 01-10-2008 06:16 PM

Cool Tool

I would love to buy this crop a dile--looks cool and much easier to reach the middle---but can't they don't ship to Canada. SHUCKS!!!

superiorstamper 01-10-2008 06:31 PM

I didn't buy it...would rather wait for a coupon and get a discount and not pay shipping....I think I can wait a couple of months...that is the first time I have thought that. Looks good but I can wait.

sunnysnowflake 01-10-2008 06:37 PM

I totally bought this 2 seconds ago! Thanks all you enablers! I was perfectly happy with my original and then went to HSN and watched the video and that thing is cool!

I have the CAD and love it! I've never used a silent setter, but I know that there are folks that have the SS and have bought the CAD so I'm guessing that the CAD is easier (to justify another tool with the same function?!). I have used the very NON-silent regular setting tool and I would never use eyelets if I had that as my only option!!

Happy stamping!

...must have every gadget!!!

LOL. With my vote it is now split evenly. I don't even use my CAD that much but I still ordered the big one. For one thing I must have every gadget out there (seriously-you should see my room) and for another, the reason I don't use it much is because of the small reach.

You and me both! LOL
I took the plunge and ordered the Big Bite and the carrying case so I guess the poll just move up a bit more.

Hmmm... I have always thought they smelled like popcorn - I use to call my dog "Popcorn Toes" Sadly he passed away last summer.
Now I have "Litter Toes" 3 sets of them! --- Read my signature.

Ok, back on topic, I do have the CAD 1 and love it! Though I am considering buying CAD 2. I probably will -
I just have to own at least one of "EVERYTHING"!!!!!

It all started with the "Empty Nest Syndrome" TeeHee

sprtchick 01-11-2008 08:03 PM

Ordered and expected on Feb 4 08! yipee!

Choc0holic 01-11-2008 08:10 PM

I haven't purchased it yet, but will probably when it hits my LSS. Primarily because I want to be able to do it anywhere on a page.

montistamper 01-11-2008 09:26 PM

I want it, but don't want yellow. I'm hoping they come out with more colors later.

Joan B 01-11-2008 09:32 PM

No, I cannot handle another huge thing in my craft room!!!!

bunnystamper 01-12-2008 04:42 AM

I am buying it. I can't beat the price my sister is selling at 25.00. So I will be getting it as soon as CHA is over.

Suzi

Yami 01-12-2008 04:53 AM

I already bought it! Can't wait to play!!!!

shastess 01-12-2008 05:44 AM

I love my CAD and a friend bought the BIG BITE so I will just use hers if I need to.

tdodd00 01-12-2008 06:03 AM

I am quite sure that I am not going to buy it, had the other one and sold it...I just don't do enough eyelets to justify. I would like to see it though and watch the video, but I can't even find it. Anyone have a link?

Never mind, found it!

thechecker 01-12-2008 06:51 AM

I almost bought it for the grommets, but watching HSN showed NOT real grommets like I wanted, the kind where you cut the hole and insert 2 pieces and hammer together. It just does the same size as the eyelets. And they did NOT punch a hole, just set their "grommets" into the fabric with the center showing fabric. Not what I mean when I say grommets, you know?
So I was glad I didn't buy.

Anne

arubberstamper 01-12-2008 10:13 AM

Yes, I did order the CAD II. I don't have the original one and
the fact that it reaches longer than the original. I also love the fact of how many grommets you get. I also ordered the carrying case for it and more grommets. It will be coming on Feb 4th. Can't wait and doing a happy dance. What a good price for this tool.
