Default Help!?! With removing stickiness ...

Hi!

I'm trying to finish removing my stamps from the wood blocks.

For some reason there's stickiness that I just can't figure out how to remove. Also there's some foam that won't come off either.

I'm figuring there's someone here that's experienced this and can help.

Thank you,

I unmounted many stamps and ended up tossing all the wooden blocks because I could not remove the sticky residue. I have recently found that baby powder is the answer. Just sprinkle on the powder (or you can use baking soda) and then scrape with a spatular or putty knife. It really works well. You might have to powder them more than once to make the block perfect.

Oh I'm actually trying to get the stickiness off the now unmounted rubber.

Will the powder work on the rubber too?

So I tried baby powder and it worked a little.

Next I tried nail polish remover with acetone in it and that worked better.

There are just a few rubber stamps that the adhesive from when they were mounted on wood won't come off.

DH says I may have to try stronger acetone from like Home Depot hopefully that works.

It's so frustrating. I didn't think changing my wood mounted stamps to cling mounted would be so hard to do.

I have been cleaning them between starting each new process and also before putting them on the cling mount.

FYI if y'all are looking for a place to get your cling mounts I definitely recommend going to Stampers Best. I got their 10 pack of cling mount and I've completed almost 4 drawers of stamps and I'll have 1 complete sheet left over for any other stamps I might need it for.

I think a lot of people don't worry if the stamp is sticky to stick to the cling from what I have read on here.
