I have a 40% coupon for M's....went there, looked at the cAD and put it back...I dont know what is wrong with me...I normally dont put things back but for some reason, I am having a hard time with this tool..is this REEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAllly a must have?????
I hope you're not tired of the same talk...but I need justification...
I have one, and I'm not sure it's a "must." I still can't set eyelets with it, but that's ok--I'm not a big eyelet fan. I use it to punch thru stuff. Chipboard coasters, Target metal frames (how cool is that?), CDs, multiple layers of cardstock, etc. I *love* it for punching. If you make a lot of 3D items, I think it's worth it.
I guess what sold me most on it is the 'stopper' function with the hole punch. I loved that I could line up any holes that I made, or if I was making a book, I could punch a stack of paper, punch another stack, and they would be lined up with the holes.
If you do end up with one, keep the back of the packaging - it is really useful when using the setting functions.

Well...I just bought one Thursday and used it once to set eyelets. It was really easy and I like it, but I don't know if it is a "must have" yet. I need to use it more to decide that.

I think you should just go for it...lol! If you went to the store looked at it, put it back and are still thinking about it, you may really want it. You will definately use it for punching and at 40% off it is practically at a wholesale price.

I did the exact same thing.....so I didn't pick it up...it's more of a 'nagging' for me and I have decided that , that naggin' feelin' - isn't strong enuff for me to buy. I'll wait a bit longer....i use the punches at this point so for me IMO, it's not REALLY, a need. - not at this time, just yet!! (disclaimer for DH, incase I change my mind LOL):-D

When I was young we went "skinny dipping," and now, well... I just "chunky dunk!"
My mom has one and I LOVE hers! Then again, I am wanting to work on Abby's birth announcements as soon as she is born, and I love the fact that I can go through multiple pages with this instead of having to punch one page at a time...
So, yes, I think it is getting to where it is a must...at least for me!
Thanx a bunch, ladies...I do have that nagging feeling of getting it, then not getting it....so something tells me that I will end up with the darn thing before too long....but now I have to wait for another 40% off coupon...cause afterall, gotta save money, right??????????????? heeheehee
I didn't think I had to have one until I needed to make 40 birth announcements for my nephew. I had cheapy eyelets that took a lot of pounding. After the first ten announcements, I looked at DH, and said, there's this tool that I can get for $18 (with the coupon) and I could do this quietly - he said go get it!
It is a bulky thing and I haven't found a great place to put it in my stamp area yet, but if you're making multiple cards, the puncher is terrific - it truly will go through anything. Nothing beats only having one tool to do eyelets instead of the hammer, the other thing, and the mat! I stamp a lot when I have insomnia, so I know DH appreciates it!
I've had mine now since early December and absolutely love it. I've kept my silent setter, hole punches, and my other setters and hammers close by in case it can't do something that those tools can do, but I think I can part with those and just have the one tool now. I live in a townhouse and also stamp late at night and it's wonderful because there is no noise. I've done eyelets, snaps & plaques of all different sizes and have not had a problem. Well, the only problem that I had is trying to see the letters on the little dials. I'm in denial about my eyesight. lol... I also love how it punches holes through anything without hurting my wrists. Now all I need is to search for one tool instead of many to just set an eyelet.

My cropodile is my favorite scrapbooking tool. I don't know how I worked without it.
