Those metal edges get HOT - I think if you want them to hold you'll need a more permanent adhesive than just the tape. Maybe you could stick the washi to cardstock first and then use a stronger adhesive to attach the cardstock to the tealight?

Many brands need a touch of glue, especially on surfaces other than paper.

lydia -- hadn't even burned them yet - lol. they were just sitting on the counter.
vic -- i tried a tiny glue dot, that popped up too.

maybe it's the metal. maybe it's "waxy" idk
and i tried 3 different tapes. very odd.

Maybe a wipe with alcohol to clean, use Glossy Accents or gel medium to glue.

You will probably need an adhesive that will adhere to metal. Its a pretty slick surface and most of our "craft" adhesives don't stick well to metal.

This may sound stupid, but considering the metal as really slick surface, could you sand the metal a bit and then try to stick the tape? I would wipe really well to take out the dust before gluing.
