Question She's All That

Does anyone else think this set is creepy? Is it just me or do these girls look like skeletons? I am trying to like it but I just can't. Maybe I am just jealous cause I need to loose a few, well more than a few pounds...Anyway it has been bothering me so I had to see if I am the only one...

Nah...I think they're funky, lol! I have way more than "a few" inches to lose, too. I just think they're meant to be caricatures, not "reality-based." I'm having fun playing with the girls...here's one I uploade:

Your card is BEAUTIFUL. But I can not help to think of "The Corpse Bride" when I see this stamp. Oh well I guess looking on the bright side it is LESS money I will spend well not really will just spend it on a different set I'm sure.

I love that set. Maybe because I have always like the vintage black and white silhouettes. I remember being fascinated watching a lady cutting away with tiny scissors. She was creating a beautiful image of a child who was posing for her.

I didn't like it at first but I've seen so many adorable cards in the gallery that they have "grown" on me!!

At first I didn't love it, but all the cards I've seen are really good and like the others I love it now! It's really different, which I like. Silhouettes seems to be popular now -- with flowers too.

When I look at this set (or actually most female stamp sets) I never associate them with myself. Like MSBetsyZ said, it's a cartoon, a caricature. I have to lose a few pounds myself, but my "issues" probably stem more from real people ...on tv, movies, magazines.

I still don't like it -- their bad posture just drives me nuts! It's one of those sets I just don't even like to look at.

Patti, I thought the same thing... "It looks like Emily from Corpse Bride!"

I did not care for this set. It reminded me of "The Nightmare before Christmas" characters.

LOL, which, of course, is why I was instantly attracted to it! 'Course, I am a little twisted....

Fortunately, the world is a better place because of diversity, right? How boring if we all were completely alike...speaking as an indentical twin, lol!

I just now took a look of that card and got the Corpse Bride reference. I think with that background it totally invoke those reference. But, I've seen several in the gallery and thought they're pretty.

I think this is totally outside of normal SU style. More like Stampendous that has a line of girls that are that way. I believe Rubber Stampede too.

You gals are all so right diversity is the spice of life. I never really give opinions about actual sets before but something in this set just draws it out. With all that said you know as soon as it retires I will have to have it! LOL Oh well I will say that some of the samples in the galllery really make this set look beautiful!! Keep creating ladies, don't mind me!!!

I love this set! They are so different than anything else that I have. Plus, there's a girl for every occasion. It's great!

I just got this set and normally I don't buy 'silhouette'stamps. I did a really pretty card with the kissing technique of the bride one with the Floral background in Purley Pomegranate and it doesn't look at all corpse like! Don't have a photo as I keep forgetting to take them before I send my cards off to swap. As they say everything is in the eye of the beholder and what works for one doesn't for someone else! I have to agree with Heather and Garnet and say I love this set, it'll be very versatile. You just have to use a little imagination as with all the sets we purchase.

I agree! I rarely see a set and say " I HAVE to have it" but I did with this one!

I just tried to find what you did in your gallery & couldn't find it. I would really like to see what you did. Do you have it UL somewhere?

I am large lady and I dislike skinny lady stamps, lol. That being said the examples you ladies have all posted are very nice. I won't buy this set--not even after it is retired.
