Question Sizzix Magnetic Platform question

Hoping someone can help me with my question: I have had the Sizzix Big Shot Magnetic platform on my Wish List for a while and I was wondering that if you want to diecut something thicker like a chipboard frame, are the magnets strong enough to hold the chipboard in place?

Also, for those of you who have this magnetic platform, are you happy with it? Does it do all that you want it to do? Today, I saw something similar called a genius platform which is meant to be compatible with all diecutting systems but as I have a Big Shot so I am a little wary when it comes to buying something that isn't specifically designed for my machine. And when I am presented with multiple choices of a similar product, it just confuses me

I just ordered the magnetic platform from SU the other day. I wanted it for thinlit and edgelit dies. I will let you know what I think once I get it. Not sure about using it with chipboard.

I've seen a post somewhere on SCS where the Sizzix magnetic platform was used with chipboard, cork, felt and fabric successfully. I've only used mine so far with cardstock; I love it!

I read in another thread here that the magnets are weaker in the other platform.

I have the Genius and it works with thin chipboard, haven't tried anything thicker. It fits in most major systems except the old style Cuttlebug.
