What is the best cutter?
 

I have tried a Fiskar cutter and a cutterbug cutter. I am not happy with either cutter. Does anyone have any suggestion of a good cutter they use on a regular basis?

I really, really like my large Tonic paper cutter. You never have to replace the guillotine blade-it is self sharpening by moving it up and down without paper and pushing it toward the base because there is a metal piece there tah the blade will rub against to sharpen. I have cut thin chipboard-cereal box weight, paper all weights, thin cork sheets, thick glitter paper, etc. I can cut fine strips of paper without any problem. It has a strip of plastic to hold the paper in place as it cuts. If the paper is a heavy weight, I nudge the blade toward the base, and the cut is clean.

Good luck on your search. I bought many paper cutters before I found the one that works for me. I am not a fan of the Fiskars paper cutter except the 9" guillotine that I keep handy in my crafting area. Have a second one that I take to workshops.

I just bought the Fiskars procision trimmer for 50% off at Joanns and so far love it. Feels really solid and the measuring is easy, cut is straight. I've also used the old CM and more recently the cutterpede portable cutter. Also had a Purple Cow trimmer that was both a fold-up guillotine cutter and a rotary cutter, but it never was straight for me.

I have an X-acto guillotine cutter and love it! It was a bit pricey, but it's the only one that I haven't had to replace within a very short period of time or that hasn't exasperated me, so it was worth every penny, as far as I'm concerned!

I'm with crafter 4 lifer. I love my tonic guilotine cutter.
I had a fiskars as well as the cutterbug. I found after a while both warped and the cut would not be straight.

Hands down... the Genesis with edgelight!

I think the "best" depends what is important to you. What didn't you like about the 2 you used, and what is important to you in your cutter? For instance, do you need to cut multiple sheets at a time, need to cut just cardstock or other things like chipboard, self sharpening blade, straight cuts in small measurements... etc....

I bought xacto laser guillotine cutter. Will be arriving this week. I think the laser will be a great feature, and have heard great things about the guillotine cutters. I also decided on guillotine over rotary, because I didn't like having to reach forward and back to cut. This way I just pull up and down to cut.
