Watermarking Question-PSP7

Read through a bunch of old threads. Does anyone have directions on how to watermark using PSP7? I tried the tutorial from about.com for PSP and it didn't work. May be for a newer version of it. I have PSP7's anniversary addition. Any help would be appreciated. I know alot of people use paint shop, but I don't have that software. I've been trying all morning to make one and getting frustrated. LOL! I would love to get this accomplished today.

I know someone posted the instructions for PSP in a thread back when the discussions first started. I also use PSP7 and need to find the instructions again. I think you'll have better luck in a search if you use "Paint Shop Pro" in the search rather than "PSP". People usually spell it out.

The search option on SCS is not working for me right now. :-(

Hi, I found another tutorial that helped me, and have included much simplified instructions from it at the end of this post.

but I did it a bit differently -- I cropped the watermark file down to just the size of the text, so I could paste it onto an image as a new layer somewhere it wouldn't interfere with the image, but still show. This might be in different places on different images, so I didn't want it to be right in the middle like the example in the tutorial. Also, he must be using a different version (I have 7) because some of the menu items were in different places.

The saved watermark file doesn't look transparent by itself, but when you copy and paste it as a new layer (Cntrl +L) onto your card, it is transparent and clearly visible.

Here are the simplified steps:
1. New image, white background
2. Enter your text in black
3. Crop to desired size
4. Merge layers
5. Effects>Texture>Emboss
6. Layers>Properties>Soft light
7. Save image
8. Copy and paste as new layer Contro+L

Here's an example of it in use -- I placed it to show that it shows over patterns, white, light and dark cardstock.

After extensive searching on the internet for tutorials, this is the one I found worked for me, too. And, I had the same experiences - some things were in different locations, but his info helped me know what to look for. I am finally able to make and use my own watermarks, and they are 'true' watermarks that are transparent, not white or black.
