Default Dimensional Glue?

Hello,

Does anyone know of a dimensional glue? Im looking for a glue to take the place of foam dots or tape when the foam is too wide. For example, Im trying to make a card with lattice and the tape and dots are too wide not to show under the lattice lines. I find it a nightmare to cut the dots or tape narrower. Or is there such a thing as super narrow foam tape?

Thanks!
Linda

When I've wanted dimension on a similar die, I cut it out in Fun Foam, then in cardstock. I used a paint brush to brush Tim Holtz Multi-Medium on top of the Fun Foam, then stuck the cardstock die cut on top of it. Worked like a charm. The multi-medium gives you a little time to wiggle the die cuts into position so they line up perfectly.

Another option would be to do like Jennifer McGuire, and cut a few out, and glue them together. I did it my way to save cutting and gluing.

Sticky strip or any thin tape adhesive will do the trick. Put down a line of tape on a slick surface (a craft mat works) and pull off the paper covering. Rub your fingers across the tape, rolling the tape like if you were trying to make a worm . The tape will roll up on and stick to itself and then you can easily put this on your lattice.

Glue Dots makes lines of adhesive in both continuous lines and perforated segments. They add a little dimension, and they're thin. They're also clear.

Silicone glues work well for dimension but I don't like the smell. The best one I have used is PinFlair as shown in our 3D paper piecing tutorial: 3D Paper Piecing Tutorial - Splitcoaststampers, but I'm not sure whether that's available in the US. It seems to have a quicker drying time than silicone glues too, though t still takes quite a while to set.

Like Sabrina I’m a fan of Pinflair gel glue if you can get it, it’s strong enough for heavy embellishments, does a great job with glitter cardstock which can often be tricky and is infinitely variable on how much dimension you want to give between layers. No strong smell and dries crystal clear.

Another vote for Pinflair Glue gel here too. One thing I will say- like Joanne I often use it to attach stuff to glitter cardstock- if you are going to be attaching white cardstock on top of your glitter card, is test it out first with a small piece of the glitter cardstock and your white card. I say this, as I bought some green cardstock at a craft show. It wasn't a cheap version, so I didn't expect any problems. When I attached my image on top, after it had dried, it had leached the green colour through to the white. But I've never had it happen before, so I know it's not the glue, just the dye used in the cardstock.
