Default Autumn Leaves clear stamps? Are they decent or junk??

OK, I got some Autumn Leaves clear stamps at Tuesday Morning; originally $10, on sale there for $4. I am a wood block stamper, almost exclusively SU!, but they had a cool calendar set and a nice large number set. Are these decent quality clear stamps?? I know from SCS that there is a large variety in clear stamps... I know PTI, for instance, makes awesome ones and the dollar ones at Michael's are junk.

Should I actually buy a clear block and use these Autumn Leaves ones or return them and count myself wiser for the experience?!

Thanks in advance for your guidance!!!
Shay

I have had Autumn Leaves clear stamps for 3-4 years now, and love them. The images are nice and crisp, they take different types of ink wonderfully, and I have had no problems getting them to cling to my acrylic blocks or to the CD jewel cases where I store them.

Autumn leave clear were the first clear stamps I bought..
I was disappointed with them..They seemed squishier..I didn't get a good image even using Chalk inks..

Since then I've bought other clear stamps from a variety of companies Amuse, PTI,Memory Box, Inkadinkado, and Studio G . There was a marked difference in quality from these companies clear products..

I don't like them at all and now I read the labels carefully as their line called Stampology catches my eye on the rack but I am afraid to try them.

I like them. I think its a matter of opinion, and the quality you seek when you stamp. I like some of the Autumn Leaves flourishes. I have quite a few clear stamps, as well as rubber stamps. Quality can be an issue. But sometimes that image is just what I need, so I make it work. Tuesday Mornings sells off brands cheap--like the overstocks and leftover stocks. I love Tuesday Mornings but it is selective. I don't go in there looking for something specific unless I know they have a certain thing--like an OTT light. Great deal on those!
I have several Autumn Leaves stamps, and I like them. I bought two clear alphabet Autumn Leaves sets there and they are super! These were great quality. However some other Autumn leaves are not top quality, but I buy them for the specific image. They work for me.

What did you decide to do, Shay? I am curious myself, as I think the images are wonderful...but not sure about quality...

I have some and I like them. I use clear stamps almost exclusively-- Close To My Heart But i think its all in the amount of pressure you use when you stamp.

Default I've never tried them!

I did keep them but have never purchased a clear block to try them out! I use Stampin' Up wood mounted almost exclusively. Someday I will remember to get a clear block to try these out with! I have way too many stamps as it is though!!!

Good luck!

I have the flourishes set from Autumn Leaves and have had no problem with it.

In a pinch you could use an empty cd case or, if you have a cuttlebug, you could use the C Plate from that as a clear mount until you get one.

The backs of your SU! wood blocks (the side with the sticker) will work as a clear block in a pinch as well.

I am continually amazed at the ingenuity of all the awesome stampers out there, and so lucky that I found SCS so that so many of the stampers actually help me out with this stuff... such good ideas for substitutions for clear block! Awesome!

Thanks to all!!
