Sharpening cleaver style paper cutter

Does anyone have any tips on sharpening the blade on this type of paper cutter?
I luv my big paper cutter, it's about 20 years old and I don't want to replace it since I have the smaller Fiskar paper cutters for smaller sheets.

If it's the big old fashioned kind like you used to see in schools, you may have to take the whole blade someplace to be sharpened.

Some of the newer guillotine style cutters are self-sharpening though.

I just saw a tip when I googled sharpening guillotine blade trimmers. Use several pieces of aluminum foil and cut through it to sharpen the blade. It would be worth trying.

I've tried the foil, but I have not attempted to take it apart... Thank you.

Clean the blade with alcohol, which will get rid of paper dust and will evaporate quickly, not hurting your blade.

I wonder if you take it apart and it needs sharpening perhaps a local hardware store could do it for you. I know sometimes they sharpen blades for things like lawnmowers or other yard tools perhaps they could sharpen your blade for you.
