Default chipboard journals or notebooks?

I am planning to make some calendars for Christmas gifts- like the one on pg. 154 of the current Stampin' Up Catalog. Does anyone have and suggestions on the best place to purchase the chipboard journals or notebooks to make these? I know SU has them for sale in the catalog, but I would like to find some that cost a little less if possible. I plan to make several.

Just a note, I live an hour from any craft stores, so online purchases are easier for me. I'm sure some of you have great suggestions, so I would love to hear them! Thanks in advance for your help!

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I purchased a Bind It All and I think one of their covers will fit, but haven't tried it yet! If not I will probably make my own with some chipboard sheets that I have.

I was thinking of making the garland with chipboard letters/shapes. What is the best glue to use?? I made a few and the SU glue doesn't hold the corners down after a little time. Did I do something wrong??

I have used Modge Podge in the past for chipboard and it seems to work good for me! You can find it at just about any craft store. Just make sure you let it dry in between coats otherwise you get bubbles in the paper.
