Default need some advice

I have an old treasured wood box that is covered in some dry embossed metal--tin, I think. The metal is peeling away from the box. What can I use to re-attach it? I've already tried the red sticky strip tape. No luck. any help will be very appreciated!

Wiki says you need an epoxy glue to bond wood to metal, because wood is porous and metal is not.

I would suggest going to a craft store like Michaels and reading the labels in the adhesive section to find something that would work.
