Default EMBOSSING POWDERS

Does anyone know what the difference is between the embossing powders sold here in the U.S. compared to the Cosmic Shimmer embossing powders exclusive to the U.K. I had wanted to try some but shipping sometimes is as high as $14 which is ridiculous! One site was selling 1 pot of Cosmic shimmer for $5.49 (US dollars) with shipping to the US at $14.99. Anyway just curious if there is a difference? :?

The only difference is that the cosmic shimmer ones have a mica glimmer to them. What you could try is to take a small amount of your normal EP, and add some mica powder to it, and see what result you get. I often play around with my embossing powders this way, for instance adding glitter to a 'flat' ep. One thing to remember when doing this is to always have a greater ratio of Ep to whatever you add, otherwise it won't melt & stick properly. You couls also take a little clear ep, and add some coloured mica to that. One cheap way of getting coloured micas is eyeshadows!

Am I allowed to mention a UK supplier here or is it against the rules? :?

No, its not against the rules- people often recommend suppliers to others.
You can buy them from J oanna Sheene , and she ships to the USa, I know there is no shipping charge for the UK on orders over 9, you could email and ask what the minimum order/shipping costs are for the USA.
They are also available on Amazon.com, both singly and in multipacks.
