SU new Flourish thinlits and Cuddlebug
 

I really want to get SU's new Flourish thinlits, but I have a Cuddlebug. Please, has anyone tried it on the Cuddlebug? Does it work ok. Also, on the video, it looked rather a pain to use the brush to get the pieces out. The video demonstrator didn't even take the time to finish cleaning out the die cut. Any thoughts?????

I have a CB but not this thinlit so I can't answer that question. I do have the brush, though, and I find it helpful. It is easier than poking out every single tiny piece! You do have to be careful with thinner weight paper because the bristles could tear the paper, but I am glad I bought the brush and foam pad.

I have a cuttlebug and use all different kinds of dies (framlits, thinlits, etc) in it. All you need to do is adjust your sandwich with a few shims if necessary. As for getting the little bits out it can be frustrating but so can using that brush too. I like the 'Bounce fabric sheet' method myself. I know Deb Valder and Dawn Griffith both have videos on how to use it and probably there is a video on SCS too..but I'm not sure. Good luck.

When SU does their videos they do tend to leave out the "boring" parts like removing all the pieces from inside the die-cut. I think it just saves them time and they have a shorter video that way. I do not see any reason why it wouldn't work in the Cuttlebug. As stated above, you can always add a shim or two if your particular machine needs a bit of help. I have found the thin metal shim (I purchased mine from Cheery Lynn Dies) makes a huge difference with my Big Shot. Without it I do not get a clean cut and many areas do not cut through at all. I try and use it with any intricate dies I have.

The only SU die I don't think a Cuttlebug could handle is the mini treat bag which is too wide. The Flourish thinlets should be fine. The SU dies are made by Sizzix, and the sandwich is the same as any other thin die, I think an A plate, a C plate, and a B plate. As was said above, use a card stock shim if you need one.
