Storing Stampin' Spots

I was just told by Demo Support that I should NOT encourage my customers to store their Stampin' Spots upside down - I was told it was "not good for the stampin' spots". Why isn't this a good idea? I thought it would help keep the ink on top of the spot. Any ideas? THANKS!!

I think if they're stored upside down for any length of time, they have been known to leak. I do store my craft spots that way however, and have never had that problem. I'm wondering if the classic ink leaks because it isn't as thick as the craft ink...dunno, really, just speculation.

What Lisa said. I noticed on my ink cartridges that were stored on their sides that all of the ink ran to the bottom side. I had to add ink to it to get it to even out. Anyway, the size of the pad is so small that storing them upside down can make them leak. I have stored my craft spots upside down with no probs.

The only time my spots have "leaked" in the past 3 years of being stored upside down, is when I didn't notice one of the fibers was loose and it got caught in-between the lid and the bottom. The ink then seeped out along the fiber and leaked all over the paper on the lid. No big deal. I can't see how it would be "bad" for your spots though, or "bad" for SU for that matter. It just encourages people to buy the refills :D

stampin spots

they will leak if you store them upside down or on their side. the best way to store them is flat

I have stored my upside down for 2 years and so far no problems.

I store mine right side up in their original boxes and have no problem with them being dry.

I store mine in the medium stampin up stamp boxes, a family fits in there perfectly....I store them all upright...the only leakage problem I have had is from the ink wicking from a stray thread...

I had stored my spots upside down for a long time and they were fine. We recently moved and I'm assuming that the movers put them on their side and almost everyone leaked. A real mess.
