I frequently use the CM cutting system and have most of their templates. I am trying to come up with a storage solution that will occupy a minimal amount of space. I was thinking of placing each template set into one of those pencil pounches that have the three ring hole to place in a binder. All I can find are the small ones with the cartoon characters on them. Looking for a
*Mesh canvas style ( sturdy yet viewable of contents)
* Maybe 8*10 in size
*3 ring holes to store in a D ring binder.
Is anyone aware of something like this? I have googled plenty but don't seem to be hitting the right search terms.
Also would love to hear any ideas you may have for storing these templates.
Thanks in advance-

I don't know if CM still has the paper protectors (heavy plastic ones) were around $3.35 each here in Ontario. They are the ones I have my system in and them in a zippered D ringed binder. They all will fit even with the cardboard backing that they came with all but the Jazzy Patterns and the binder I have has a side pocket and it will slide in to the pocket. I hope this helps, it is great being able to take the cutting system with you to crops. Also Ziplock has come out with ex-large size at Wal-Mart, that might work also.

I have a tote that all mine fits in, it is an old laptop computer case. It has zippered sides in which the cutting mats and plastic line up sheets all slide down in (including the large oval/egg - I have all the templates). The middle zippered section holds all the cutting templates plus my fiscars straight cutter & perfect layers system. I have the ovals and circles in pencil holders cases down in the inside of this, easy to grab since these are the ones I used the most. It is really nice to have all together whether at home or at a crop. I suggest looking for a rectangular tote or small suitcase to hold all. A softsided briefcase would probably work.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Since my crafting real estate is at a premium (share the study w/DH), I am trying to go vertical as much as possible. I was hoping to have any many thing as possible in binders that can be placed on a bookshelf. I will have to look into the larger ziplocs or the craft keepers.
Thanks again

Actually I just put mine in a tupperware container. I have the mat and blades out all the time on my desk. If I am going somewhere else to crop then I put them in my CM bag. The tupperware container is a square modular mate about 6 inches tall I guess. I have all but the huge oval (which I do not use)in the container.

Thank you for starting this thread....Great ideas. My CM cutter stuff is just in photo storage box right now, but I will be searching for something better.
My cm consultant has hers stored on an old 6 holder cup rack. The kind that stands up on the counter. She puts it out on the cutting table when we come to crop. It's really nice to be able to see them all at once when deciding which one to use for a photo. I think she may pop them into a drawer when we're not there.

My friend and cm consultant has hers in a longaberger organizer basket....like a serving tray type. And they sit right in front of her. I had mine in a longaberger basket for the longest time but then needed something more portable.

This sounds interesting but can't visualize it . Is it like a rotating thing with pegs on it ??

Not trying to hijack the thread...you can email or PM me if you want..
Does anyone actually save/use the clear sheets that come with the CM templates that have the colored lines on them?

I used them for along time until I got the hang of the system. I still have them and they are in my CM bag....in case I need them again ;)

i keep my templates in a three draw plastic stroage. the top draw has my tools like corner rounder, scallop corner cutter , two different scissors, multipurpose tool, ect. second draw has my writer markers, cm pens. the third draw has the templates, and blades. You just have to remember to take it with you to your crops. But a great way to keep everything together and I even have it labed. I keep my personal trimmer, straight trimmer and decorative trimmer on top.

Thought I would provide an update to let everyone know that the pencil cases ( larger canvas style cost $3) worked well for me. I placed each set of templates( ie circles in 1 bag, ovals in another etc.) in a separate bag and placed those in a 3" binder. In one of the front pockets of the pencil bags I put my blades and scissors.
Great improvement over the large sterlite container. Since I was trying to go vertical as much as possible, this works for me. Trying to avoid putting holes in the wall to hang a peg board or file folder up but I did like those ideas.
HTH someone!
