I got some stickles during the GASC Convention here in Dallas. There are a few bottles in them from which I cannot get anything out. I mean I squeeze and Squeese, but nothing :(.... sometimes i just get white glue but no glitter.
The others I got in the same batch are working great.
Am I doing soemthing wrong? What can I do to fix this? Please help.
My clear does this. I poke a needle into the tip and it clears it out for a squeeze of two. I've had to resign myself that this bottle is just tempermental and this is the only way I can use it.
I had the same problem with some of mine... I used a needle, too, although one of them even the needle didn't help much... That one, I just ended up cutting the nib down. It didn't bother me that much, because it's not too big for me yet, but I know that some girls use theirs for super small detail work! If you're really controlled and steady, you can still use mine for detail work, it just takes a lighter touch! ;)
I've had the same thing happen to a couple of different colors, I'm not sure if it's color-related or not. I think what happens is a piece of glitter gets jammed into the opening. I'm not sure if the glitter is too big or the hole is too small. I take a pin and stick it down the opening and then shake the bottle up. HTH!
That is what I do also. I make sure I shake it up first allot. Then I try to squeeze it on a scrap piece of paper first. If it doesn't come out then I use a straight pin in the opening. Sometimes I even have to roll it around the opening. Kind of like ream it out. Hope that helps. Kathy
#2---Stick the end of a paper clip down the "spout" and move around as to stir the glue.
#3--- O.k. this one can get sticky. If you can't get it to work, take a pair of needle nose pliers and pull the spout out of the bottle so you can stir it up and get lumps out. Now, move the pliers around and be kinda careful ad to not ruin the spout. It is going to take some pulling and I mean pulling, to get it out, but it will come out. Now the MAJOR! BE CAREFUL HOW YOU ARE PULLING IT, AS IN SQUEEZING THE BOTTLE. wHEN IT COMES OUT, THERE WILL BE A POP! HAVE SOME NEWSPAPER OR SOMETHING SPREAD OUT SO IF IT BLOOPS YOU WILL HAVE SOMETHING THERE FOR IT TO LAND ON.
THE REASON i SAY TO BE CAREFUL IS A LADY ON HERE OR ANOTHER BOARD, CAN'T REMEMBER, BUT SHE ENDED UP WITH A NEON GREEN DOG! LOL
How funny to come across this post! I had the same problem last night--only with the gold color. I used the cream, silver, red and green with not problems, but the gold would not give. I did finally have my hubby pull the top off--he used his teeth--the pliers would of been a better choice! LOL He had gold everywhere!
What I have found that helps is to store the bottle upside down with the point down. I think this may keep the stuff left up top from drying out?? I really don't know, but it is working for me!

I'm picturing his brand new Stickles "grill" and am laughing hysterically! Did you get a picture? Bwaa haa haaa haa!
I had emailed the manufacturer when this happened to me. The answer I rec'd was this:
"Adding water will not help.
Sometimes theStickles will not come out because air gets trapped in the bottles. You need to stick a straightened paper clip in the bottle to release the trapped air. A straight pin or a needle will not work because it is not thick enough to release the air."
I keep this reminder and a straightened paper clip in the case with my Stickles.
I have had this problem with a couple of colors and when a pin did not do the trick, I went to a large safety pin. I now store the bottles upside down(I use an old velveeta cheese box, made an insert with cardstock and a circle punch) and I also wipe the tip on a piece of cloth after each use. I have not had any more problems with them.
Glad to see this thread. I fought mine the other night and shook and stuck pin in, wiggled it around, and finally gave up and got the cheap tubes of colored giltter stuff out. I got them a couple of years ago at JoAnns for 20 cents a tube and got a whole bunch of colors. Love these things and wish they would get them again. They are just as pretty as the stickles and don't have the problems and dry much quicker, plus I was using the red and I compared the two on a piece of paper and the cheap red was more glittery and red than stickles. Anyway thats one of the reasons I'm not that big of fan of stickles as I spend more time fighting with them than using.
But I will try your suggestions of the paper clip and keeping them upside down if I can figure out what to use to keep them upside down. (just wish j's would keep these other tubes all the time, much cheaper and better:-D )
I could not log into my computer for two days an checked today and was so happy to see so many responses.
Thanks so much for everyone's tip. I will try these out today itself and will let you know how it works out. It kind of feels sad when you have spent so much money buying the colors you want and cannot use them.
after problems with this I started storing mine upside in my old decorative scissor holder that turns. pic in my gallery

I don't know about the glue stuff in it, but it took me a bit of testing for one of mine. So I thought I would try to take the lid off and put it on the one I wanted to use it on...you can't take the lid off, which meant the one I was trying to use didn't even have a tip in it. I took it back to the store to get a replacement.

Mine got a "glue boogar" in it once that would not let anything pass through. I took the nozzle part off, rinsed it out with water, dried it off, stuck it back in my bottle, shook it up and it was fixed!
I could have picked out the "glue boogar" because I could see it when I pulled the nozzle off, but I didn't want glitter all over my hands.
