Easiest way I know to describe is "glue" with colored glitter - adds lots of sparkle to cards.

Stickles

Stickles(=brand) is a glitter glue!

It's pretty awesome, it comes in a little bottle with a nice tip that really allows you to do very precise things with it, like put a tiny dot (like a needle tip) of glitter on something.

Here is a great place to get Stickles. $2.00 each and free shipping for $10.00 and up orders.

Stickles are made by Ranger, here is a link to the website showing all the colours of the half oz bottles

http://www.rangerink.com/products/pr...e_stickles.htm

and here's a link showing the Ice Stickles (slightly chunkier glitter) that come in larger 1 oz bottles

http://www.rangerink.com/products/pr...cestickles.htm

They are gorgeous - and it looks like they've just released 5 new colours in the smaller sized bottles!

I have several bottles of the Stickles and I just love them. To me it is alot easier and no mess than than using glue and glitter. There are several colors as you can see by the websites given. My suggestion is to buy a bottle and try it out and if you like then buy more. My SIL does not like using the stickles at alll. She uses glue & glitter. My cards that I make with the Stickles do not shed glitter either.

Love stickles - definitely get the clear ones.

busy_bee 08-24-2007 05:09 AM

I have the "Icicle" one and it's great, it goes with everything...

I love the pearlescent stickles ("liquid pearls")! They are great for the center of flowers.

Thanks for asking this question I've wondered the same thing. I have something similar that I use called Shimmerz glue.

annie in cornwall 09-01-2007 05:17 AM

and we have them in the UK too! I've just been tarting up some of last years Christmas cards with some gold stickles - it's surprising how my ideas change in 12 months!

annie

PS - "tarting up" is a British term for putting on a bit of glitz - in case you were wondering :-D

Oh I have to try those!! I was wondering what they were exactly!...

Cynamom 09-02-2007 11:17 AM

It's TOTALLY awesome because they have great colors, it lasts forever, is CHEAP and the applicator is SMALL for fine detailing.

How do you make snow with Stickles?

JohnsPrincess 09-07-2007 09:52 AM

I just ordered 13 or 14 bottles of this stuff!! Yesterday - as a matter of fact. I wasn't 100% certain what they were, but someone posted a link to them where they are 1.75$ and free shipping after 25$. I threw a ton of bottles into my cart and then something else and was good to go! I can't wait to get them!

busy_bee 09-08-2007 05:23 AM

I never tried but since the tip is very easy to use I would assume you just make tiny little dots all over. that's what I really love about that stuff it is really easy to use and you can get a very precise application....

My daughter has those Elmer's 3D glitter glue pens, they are a real pain in the neck, always get clogged and you get big blobs of glue coming out at once... The stickles are a completely different story, and of course now she borrows my Stickles!!! She's 6 and I was amazed to see that she managed to make teeny tiny little dots in the middle on her flowers (like I do), that's telling you how easy it is to use...

Also the 1st one I got was "icicle", it's very light and goes with everything, it really takes the color of what it is on which is great. Then they were out of the other color i wanted so I ordered "Diamond" instead which looked pretty similar to "Icicle". It is actually different, the color is about the same but the glitter is a little smaller and the tip of the bottle is thiner too, so pretty much it allows for even more detailed work, but it does dry a little more flat than the the other one.

I guess you really have to experiment with those.
Somebody talked about the pearlescent ones, don't you think maybe it would work better for the snowflakes? You would have some shimmery effect but more subtle?

Let us know what you try! :-)

busy_bee 09-08-2007 05:33 AM

Oh if you haven't tried them yet you're in for a treat! ;-)
I was never a "glitter girl" but I had to use them for a contest (you can check on my blog, you'll see the page I made and the stickles all over it! That was my first ever scrapbooking attempt so be indulgent!...)).

Now I am hooked and use them almost on every card I make! Not a lot, just a tiny bit but it often takes the card from flat to alive I think.
I used them on my watercolor pencils and the glue kind of dissolves the color and in the end I have colored glitter effect!! :-)

With 13 or 14 bottles you are set for a looooong time, those last forever!
You know what's cool also, if you press too hard and have a big blob coming out, you can vacuum it right back in....

Have fun with those, and post pics!

BTW, Hi from Florida, I'm about an hour south from you, in Bradenton...

Stickles can finish off any card. I have several of them and I just love them. I like them much better than using glitter and glue. No mess at all. Have fun with your Stickles girls!!
