I started making my own custom ink pads from the cut n dry foam, which I love, but I am not happy about not having anything convenient to store them in. I use small ziploc baggies now, but they are so messy to get in and out of the bags, and the fact that they move around when inking up a stamp drives me nuts! I know they make empty ink cases with the felt/sponge already in, but does anyone know of just an empty case/tin that I can buy to glue my own cut n dry pad into?
I bought some small plastic cases from Impression Obsession. They sell them in 'sleeves' of 5. I got mine at a convention, but they also have them on their website under accessories, I think. I believe they were $2.50 for the se of 5. I also found some bigger plastic cases that I had around here that some kid's jewelry came in - the kind with a clear top and either clear or colored bottom and 2 prongs that latch together at the seam. Sure hope that makes sense...
You could also use altoids tins or something similar too.
Why don't you buy some cheap stamp pads from the dollar store. You can take out the pad and re pad it with the cut n dry. This is what I do for my reinkers of in colours.

not sure, but i've heard of folks using Crystal Effects and rubber cement to reattach other pads that have come loose so I imagine those would work here too.
For those of you who might be looking for something to store your custom ink pads like I did, I found some hinged plastic boxes on eBay for dirt cheap. They're made for baseball cards, and they come in different sizes. The dimensions of the box that can hold 35 cards is almost the same as store bought pad boxes. I'll let everyone know how they work out for me when I get them.
Now that I think of it though, I'm sure I can find other uses for these boxes, too!
Has anyone used those plastic cases from Impression Obsession for ink pads? I just found some I bought a few years ago and never used and was wondering if they would work or not. I am not sure they are airtight.
