Stampin Up Ink ?

Can I use stampin up ink on Close to my Heart stamps? I have seen a few Close to my Heart sets that I would really like to have but, I don't want to buy a whole bunch of new ink pads. TIA :)

You should be able to use any ink on them. Just know, that the clear photopolymer stamps will stain easier than rubber stamps do, so if you're buying those, just FYI. Shouldn't affect the stamping ability, they'll just stain.

I own some CTMH stamps sets and DO NOT own any of their ink pads. The stamps seem to stamps well with my ink pads. My pads are a mix of Memento, Versafine, Colorbox chalk, etc. The coverage on the solid stamps was nice - have a pumpkin set that is mostly solid and it stamped well using my orange Colorbox ink pad.

Just because a company sells stamps and ink pads doesn't mean their stamps and ink pad only work with each other!

The CTMH photopolymer stamps work great with all ink types including SU. I have a bunch and CTMH stamps and they are some of my most favourite stamps.

I have SU ink and they do not stain my CTMH stamps. CTMH stamps are very high quality.

I am having trouble finding a good black ink pad it all comes off a Blue Black. I have SU Stazon, I am ordering a new Black Stazon maybe it has the new pad and will stamp easier.
I am wanting to stamp the Five Way Flower from SU but doesn't stamp fully and not a black when I put it with the Black CS it looks Blue Black. Thanks

I use Memento Tuxedo black for all of my black ink stamping. SU's black ink is the only one I am not thrilled with.

Thank you for all your help.

I have only SU! inks and I use my CTMH stamps with them all the time. A new photopolymer stamp needs to be roughed up a bit, then it will take any ink. If we had to buy specific inks for specific brands of stamps, we would all sink into our mounds of extra stuff!

Versafine Onyx Black is my 'go to' black ink for stamping anything I am not going to color with an alcohol marker. It is a dye ink. It stamps a nice crisp black.

Just learned that you can use it when you want to emboss your stamped image. The pad needs to be very saturated with ink to have your stamped image 'wet' enough for the embossing powder to adhere.

Versafine is not a dye ink; it's a fast drying pigment ink.

Stazon is manufactured by Tsukineko, not Stampin' Up; I don't think you will find one with the foam pad.

The Ranger Archival Ink in black really nice-- a friend let me use hers at a crop and it made my cute panda stamp nice and black. Even better than my memento.
