I can only stamp on weekends, so at least one weekend day I do hours at a time. Lately, I find my back hurts. I am working in a fairly nice and new computer chair on wheels, and I am on indoor outdoor carpet. I do not have to wheel more than inches to get to any of my stuff. (See mygallery for my Stampin' Space!) My table is a regualtion dining table. I also have a kitchen chopping block cart where I stand to cut. I do not find it easy on my back to stand at it and work.
I do have periodic back problems, and maybe my days of doing anything for hours at a time are over. Any thoughts?

Does anybody work from a different kind of chair?
You might want to look at overstock.com. they have some of those "Bar" chairs with bar and move. I just got one for my sewing/stamping room! It really helps.
Sorry, moderators, I got this in the wrong category. If you'd like to move it to Tools, please do!
Jessica, I am at overstock and am not sure what you are referring to. Bar stools are too high- is there a different kind of chair? do you mean it moves on wheels or turns?
I have the same problem, unfortunately. For me it's complicated by my fibromyalgia. I hope you get a lot of replies with good ideas!!!
I have a good office chair that my sister purchased because she too has fibromyalgia. The chair I have is one that she was getting rid of. Because she bought a New one. And she got it from Office Depot. It has great Back support. with two adjustable arms.
It's alot like this one from in the link. http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?...3631&An=browse
I love sitting in the one that she gave me. In fact I can sit it for hours on end.
I know that she had always bought cheaper chairs and had always had problems with them. But since she bought the most costly chair with good back support she hasn't had as much problems.
Do you need to get a footrest? I found some relief to back problems by putting a footrest under my feet at work. You could start with phone books to see if it helps but then they sell them at office supplies if you find it is helping. The phone books would probably be too small in the long run.
I work mainly at a counter which is made from kitchen cabinets so it's the same height. I have a drafting chair which is adjustable and has a ring for resting your feet on. It's wonderful! Because of the hydraulic lift, I can change the height from time to time easily and I find this really helps.
Thanks to my wonderful mom, I got a new chair and thought I'd share with y'all. I got it from global industrial after searching a lot online. It's a big and tall chair with a lot of seat padding and heavy gauge construction. So far it seems amazingly comfortable except for being a tad too high. (I'm big but not tall!) I'll be making/buying a footrest. My old chair broke about 10 days ago and it was so uncomfortable sitting here in a dining chair that it was seriously cutting into my SCS/stamping time. My fibro also went nuts with that seating, too.
