I have some of the Le Plume II markers - they can be used for straight coloring directly onto cardstock, or can be blended with water on watercolor paper. You can also use them to color directly onto the rubber of your stamp, then mist the stamp (or cardstock) with water and stamp for a 'faux' watercolor look. Tombow markers work in a similar way.
The Marvy marker ink is water-soluble, so keep in mind that the more you color back and forth on your paper, the more it your paper is going to tend to pill. It may also show 'streaks' where your brush strokes overlap.
Markers which are alcohol-based work differently. I use Shinhan Touch markers which are also alcohol-based... a good heavy and smooth cardstock seems to work best for alcohol-based markers - the alcohol inks saturate and blend in the paper... water-based inks tend to stay put once they soak in.
Hope that helps a little! Welcome to Splitcoast!
