I'm sure it was just an oversight by someone.

I thought I was going crazy for a minute when I couldn't get to it...I KNEW I had been there!

Peeps are talking about it on other boards. No one has any inside info. We'll likely find out more Monday morning when employees show up.

Keeping my fingers crossed that its simply an oversight by the web team and has nothing to do with the company and its products.

The Aussie dollar is almost on par with the US$ so I had to go and order the set of circle nesties, the 4pk turns out delivered to my door from the US is half the price I can find them for over here and even at half price $14.50 of that is postage. I'm happy LOL

Hope the shipping doesn't take too long to get to you from the US. The 4 pack is much better deal than buying individually. Enjoy!

Mmmm depends on which coast it's coming from in the US. All international mail here goes to Sydney first then to the respective states so can take longer to those further away. 7 Days for delivery has been my best ...............
I still can't wait as I have some things I want to do with them .

Kathy, I checked out buying a set of Nesties from Ucutathome once, but they quoted me $40 something for postage which negated the 40% off, so I didn't go ahead with it. I see your postage was good. I have the full sets of ovals, circles, rectangles, petite ovals and a set of labels. I keep thinking that's all I need, but then I see some of these new ones with the fancy edges and want them! LOL. I guess they fit in with the others do they? I also rather like the long rectangles. A friend has the small scalloped long rectangles and one of the smaller ones is a great size to put sentiments on. Just fits my S.U. Sincere Salutations nicely.

Really Jan? I wonder if that's cause you're in Adelaide and I'm closer to NSW and Sydney? But that's over double.
When I went to checkout it said shipping total $14.30, I think it was that last time, I know I though postage about $15
I'd querie them if it's something you really wanted.
Let me know how you go.

I actually did send them 2 emails enquiring why their postage was so much more than some others and they never replied! I ended up talking myself out of getting them as I realised the main reason I wanted them was this one particular little one that I mentioned using with Sincere Salutations. I ended up getting the vine edgeability instead from "Simon Says Stamp", they are great to deal with and very prompt. I have the Tim Holtz "Tattered Floral" die coming from them too. One of my small petite ovals also fits the Sincere Salutation set nicely too so have been using that. I guess the time the orders take to get here also depends a lot on how promptly they are posted.

I too agree thank you so much for doing this. I got the Wizard by mistake. You see oh heck I was trying to order the Cinch, but that is a whole new story. So I have the wizard and was truly amazed at all of the things that you get with it. So I guess I shouldn't be afraid of it and heck just jump in and use it. Do I really need to read the instructions?

My Calibur Bundle (machine and 8 sets of Grands) arrived yesterday and I am IN LOVE!

I've been using my Big Kick with my Spellbinders dies, and it works great, but the Calibur is fantastic. The emboss is deep and crisp. I love the labeled and color-coded plates, too. Even I can't mess up this system.

The Calibur system is wonderful. My only disappointment is the plates are about 1/2 inch too short to use with the 12" border dies (QK, etc.) along the edge. The narrower dies will fit diagonally, but neither the narrow nor wide border dies will fit along the edge of the paper. So close and yet so far!

Really? This is a big issue with me and their products. If you are going to make a new model, wouldn't you make it UNIVERSAL? I love my wizzard and was hoping they would come out with regular sized 12" cutting plates so I could use them with other companies dies. It would make a great addition for people that still want to use their wizzard but, NOPE! Come out with a brand new machine instead and still have the plates too short..... That will keep me from getting the newest model for sure.

I wouldn't write off the whole Calibur system just because the plates are too short to use with 12" border dies.

It IS a shame the plates aren't more useful, but I still think the Calibur gives wonderful results. I had been using my Big Kick with my Spellbinders dies, and it does a great job, but the emboss is fabulous with the Calibur.

I hope Spellbinders makes longer plates for the next wave of Caliburs -- and then offers them at a huge discount for those who bought the machine at launch.

You can lay the 12" dies diagonally across the plates, they'll fit.

Yes, some of the narrow 12" dies fit diagonally, but for those who want to use the wider dies, and/or put the border/edge dies along, well, the border/edge, the plates are too short.

I unexpectedly purchased a Grand Calibur!!! I saw it at Hobby Lobby sitting under the Spellbinder dies, and my 40% off coupon did not exclude it so I snatched it up and bought it!! No planning whatsoever.

I need to buy some of the larger dies, does anyone have any favorite sources with discounted prices and free shipping? :-)

Also, is there a place I can look up the sandwiches? I have some Quickutz and Cuttlebug dies and some Sizzix Bigz dies that are pretty thick. How do you emboss these in the Grand Calibur? I have never had a Wizard before, so the Spellbinders plates etc. are all completely new to me.

Spellbinders has an FAQ page on the website: Grand Calibur FAQ - Spellbinders

The Bigz dies won't fit in the Grand Calibur.

I looked at the Grand Calibur FAQ and they keep referring to a "W-025 Sizzix Original Mat" that is needed to cut Cuttlebug and Sizzix dies. What is that? Is it one of the mats that was included with my machine?

Here is a link to that mat. If you have a Raspberry Wizard, it came with your machine.

I just bought the Grand Calibur at Hobby Lobby. Is the mat included with the Grand Calibur? If it is not included, is this the mat for the Grand Calibur also?

Thanks!

This mat is NOT included with the Grand Caliber and yes you will need this mat to use Sizzlets/Cuttlebug dies in the Grand Caliber.

Hope this helps!

Apologies for being such a "Johnny Come Lately" to this post, but where did you order from to get such a great deal to Australia? I am hoping not eBay as I am such an eBay-a-phobe.

Through some ladies here I found ucutathome.com for joining up you 40% off (and a 40% voucher each month on 1 item) and that pays for the postage and then some. I've never had any problems but I"ve only bought from them twice.
I'm not a fan of ebay either they are not always cheap depends on what your'e looking for. Cheers

Thank you. This is wonderful. I have a fair few Nesties, but I "Need" so many more. ;)

On the Spellbinder main site they show the Wizard machine "SOLD OUT" .

Was it a very popular purchase for Christmas or are they discontinuing the Wizard?

Default purple wizard

I finally opened my Wizard box that I bought at least 4 years ago:oops: I mainly bought it for dry embossing which I finally tried after having it all these years.
It embosses but not as well as expected. I did the correct sandwich that came with the original directions:
white plate
brass stencil
paper
tan mat
white plate

It beats using a lightbox but I really thought my results would be the same as using the lightbox. I used K&Company designer mat pads.
thanks, Rhoda

Default Cutting more than one Nestie at a time

If I wanted to, could I nest all six metal pieces in the Labels One set inside each other and then crank them through the Big Kick -- cutting six shapes all in one pass? I use a lot of that shape, and it just seems more efficient to do as many as possible at one time.

If I wanted to, could I line up several Nesties on the 6"x12" platform and cut them all on pass through the Big Kick/Shot?

Also, once more please: How do I cut and emboss a Nestie (or multiple Nesties) in one pass through the Big Kick/Shot?

Thank you in advance for clarifying these and other "issues" that arise with these wonderful tools!

You could nest the shapes inside one another, but remember, you won't get whole shapes for any of them except the middle one.

Picture circles. Nest three circles one inside the other. You are only running one piece of paper through. The center circle will be a solid circle and the two outer ones will be donuts. If donuts are what you want, then it works!

As for lining shapes up in a row, sure that will work.

To cut and emboss in one pass, hmmmm, don't think that would work because of the different thicknesses involved. Your sandwich for cutting needs to be a firm base in order to cut. When you emboss, you are removing one plate and adding the rubber mat to provide the cushion required for the embossing. I always have to add a different plate and a few cardstock shims to get the pressure right. If someone has figured out how to make this work, I'd like to hear it too.

Yes, you can. You just add the rubber piece on top of the cardstock. Mine sometimes embosses a little when I am only trying to cut.

I cut and emboss in one pass with my Cuttlebug. I use (starting from the bottom) B plate, tan rubber mat, shim, A plate, nestie, B plate. The shim I use is two pieces of card (from a cereal box) stuck together. That works for me!

Please can anyone help? I'm looking lovingly at the Tim Holtz Bigz dies from Sizzix and wondered if anyone has been able to use them with the purple Wizard.

When I bought my Wizard, it came with a couple of plates I've never used.

TIA

Yes you can use the Bigz dies from Sizzix in your Wizard. You need the Steel Ruled Die Adapter Mat. Here is a LINK so you know what it looks like! HTH!

Debbie, thank you very much for the info, looks like I have one of those that came with my purple wizard.
