Default New stamper and member with flower soft Q

Hi there! My DD and I are really getting into stamping - well, we have the shopping part down pat! LOL! Our question about the Flower Soft is . . . do you NEED the Flower Soft glue or can you use another? In our haste and hurry to get home with our new 'toys' we forgot to get glue (if we need it!).
It will be so much fun getting to know some other stampers!

Hi there, welcome to SCS, and welcome to your new addiction:mrgreen:

For the Flower Soft, you don't have to have the exact glue they sell with the Flower Soft sets, but you will need a very thick, heavy glue. Have you ever used "tacky glue"? That's what the Flower Soft glue is like. You need something that substantial to grab on and hold on to all those little flakey bits! I think Elmer's might work, but certainly wouldn't waste any Flower Soft using anything thinner/runnier than that!

Hope that helps - have fun!

It's my understanding that Elmer's glue is too thin.

I was afraid it might be, but I wasn't quite sure. Thanks for clarifying!

Hi!
Welcome to SCS!!

Have you been to the Flower Soft website/blog? We have lots of helpful tips on there!- i know there is a video on the blog, a few posts down-
http://flower-softinc.blogspot.com/

If you aren't using FS glue, then you need to use a PVC Glue-I think that Alene's is the brand. HTH!

Alene's Tacky Glue works perfectly - from what I understand, that is what the Flower Soft glue is, Alene's Tacky Glue.

The kits sold in the UK come with either a large Alene's tacky glue or a smaller bottle marked as flowersoft. The flowersoft bottle holds the exact same glue but has a smaller nozzle. They were recommending on the tv yesterday that we decant from the larger bottle into the smaller.

Welcome to this wonderful, addictive craft and craftsite. Hope you and DD have lots of disposable income!
As stated, any very thick white glue will work. I also read recently (can't remember where, but probably here) that you can also use Stickles with Flower Soft. I haven't played around with it much, just did a "test". Stickles really does hold the Flower Soft very well - it just has a longer drying time. It also gives the FS a nice back-glimmer.

Either tacky glue or PVA glue will work. They are similar, but not exactly the same thing. Elmer's glue probably won't work, since it's very thin. I've never tried Stickles with the Flower Soft.

I use Aleen's Tacky Glue and it works great. That's what the glue they sale from Flower Soft is. You want a glue that is a tad thick and will hold good.
