What is purple tape?

I watched an unboxing video earlier and the woman was thrilled out of her head because her order for purple tape arrived! I'm wondering if it is something special or if she just loves purple! Made me giggle for sure!

I didn't watch the whole video but scrolled until I could see the product. Then I googled; it us by iCraft per ThermoWeb's site but I hadn't heard of it before your post.

It's a low tack tape, and since it's marketed for crafters, more expensive? $7.97 for 15 yards.

I like the yellow Frog Tape for the same purpose. Not green, not blue, yellow - the least sticky. $7.97 for 60 yards. Some hardware stores, Home Epots, etc., sell it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004Y6TJAS...a-307142242740

I don't know if Purple tape is less tacky but have never had a problem with yellow Frog. Just have to peel it off in the way the card rock stars show. ; ) Oh, I use it to hold down stencils on watercolor paper, etc.

I use the yellow, too, Beth. I have 1" and 2" rolls. All she kept saying was purple tape, purple tape purple tape. She didn't say what it was or why she was so excited to have it!

Would be very interesting to see if there's any real difference in the formulation between the Purple and Yellow tape. Like bjeans says, market it for crafters and watch the price go up.

Jennifer McGuire uses purple tape on her video today-shows using it to hold dies in place because of it being less tacky.

Jennifer McGuire seems to be in love with Purple Tape and uses for different things in video below. The one thing she mentions I found interesting is you can wipe it clean and reuse it.

I use the blue painters tape and I've never had problems with it. I uses pieces over and over until they're no longer sticky.

I was questioning the Purple Tape also and simply use the yellow Frog Tape with no problems and it costs a lot less!
