smudging
 

I stamped a bunch of cards last night and this morning I picked 1 up and it was smudged. The ink was a combination of red Studio G and black Staz-on.
Do I need to heat set these? (My hands for clean and dry too.)

Staz-on dries almost instantly, being a solvent based ink. Even on something like acetate, it only takes a few moments, so I doubt that one was your problem.I'm not familiar with the Studio G, so I just did a web search, and the first word I saw was 'pigment'. That one you will definitely need to heat set, or maybe leave to dry naturally, but it might take a day or two, although I believe some pigments will not dry totally without heat, so I'd err on the side of caution, and heat set them.

I've never had this problem before. The studio g is the $1ink pads in J's or M's. Maybe it is because I mixed the two together. It looked great, just can't touch.
I tried heat setting, no luck.
I'm researching fixatives right now.

I've never had a problem with either of those inks smudging. I even did a test on the Studio G inks and rubbed it a couple minutes after I stamped it and it was set. That's why I recommend the Studio G inks all the time. I wonder if it could be a combination of the two having some weird chemical reaction. I'm going to test those two together to see if I get the same thing happen. I'll let you know...
