How long does a Grand Calibur cutting plate last?

It lasts a pretty long time. I rotate mine around alot, making sure to use both sides. But when the cut lines start to show up on the die cut, it's time for a new one.

Besides flipping sides and ends, I move the item to be cut around on the plate-don't always place it in the center. Place them at different angles, too. I have a Big Shot that I use for most dies that don't cover most of the card stock-i.e. Sizzix flip-it's, stand ups, 3-D items (boxes, bags) etc. so the GC is not my most used die cutting machine. Also, can't use thick dies in the GC. I have had it for several years and am still using my first cutting plate. The plate does get cut marks but doesn't/hasn't bowed.

I put cheap tissue paper over the cutting plate so the cutting marks don't show up on the die cut . Works for me
