Hi! Has anyone tried using the Sizzix Precision Chrome plate in their Gemini Jr.? I don't used the Gemini as much as I could because I'm so tired of the plates warping.
Hi Scrapjanny, Does the full size Gemini warp plates quickly/easily like the Jr. does?
Definitely. The warping was terrible, even when I rotated and flipped the Gemini plates. The newer plates, however, show very little warping. I'm going to buy another one and see how it does. With the warping of the older plates, I wasn't able to keep the dies from falling off unless I taped them down. Even when I used the magnetic plate, the warped cutting plates were practically useless for dies.
When I don't need the big plates, I use the 3 Big Shot plates. They work great.

I used to use the chrome plate in gemini Jr and recommended to friends...for one friend the chrome started to separate from the plastic. I stopped using it unless a die is finicky.
Scrapjanny, did you change your sandwich when using the big shot plates in the Gemini? I have tried using them - sometimes successful, sometimes won't feed. They do look slightly thicker than the Gemini plates. I love that machine, but the warping! Whoa!

First my gemini is out of warranty so do this at your own risk.
My current sandwich uses a spellbinder grand calibur white cutting plate (good luck finding one), paper , die, and a gemini clear plate. I cut into the Spellbinder grand calibur white plate (not the Platinum plates). This has not warped in 3 years.
When I was using the chrome plate it was a spellbinder grand calibur white cutting plate , paper , die, and the chrome plate cutting into the chrome plate.

I use 3 Big Shot plates, fed long side in. I've gotten very good results. I think that each machine has a slightly different pressure setting, so my method might not work perfectly for everyone. I hope you find a way that works well for you.
