Watercolor paper since you are painting with water. I have used Gina K Pure Luxury in the baseweight with good results as long as you don't work the water in too much.
I've used them on Gina K Solar White and on watercolor paper. I didn't have any trouble with warping. Probably depends on how much water you are applying to the paper. If I'm using them on a large background, I go with watercolor paper. If I'm using them on small areas of a stamped image, I used the Gina K with success.
If you do not make it too wet (and are using it for a layer) I have successfully used Georgia Pacific 110# white cardstock (found at WalMart, 150 sheets for $5-6) You may get slight warping but a light misting with plain water on the reverse side eliminates most of it and, once it has dried "flatt-ish" and you adhere it to the card base (or another layer) the rest of the warpness is dealt with too.
I recently purchased a small package (size and quantity) of canvas paper that I plan to use with my Twinks. It might be by Strathmore ... when I find it in my chaos aka craft room I'll try to remember to post more info about it.
I don't use them to color my images (as some do and they are absolutely amazing but I don't have that kind of talent). I use them as accents so to be honest I use very little and put them on all types of paper. I don't use very much water at all just enough to get some color going and I've been pretty lucky with no warping.
Oh I love me my Twinks:-D. I have always used cougar opaque 80 lb. which I get from Marco's Paper. As long as you don't overwork the paint I never have a problem with warping. If I'm doing a larger background type of thing I might also use 90 or 120 lb watercolor paper or manilla folders. I have even used the cougar opaque for backgrounds with very little warping , again as long as you don't over work it. When it warps i just spray the back with water and dry it with my heat gun.
Twinks are great for soooo many techniques, just play, play, play and see the magic happen. Can you tell I really love this stuff ?
Just when I thought I had learned about all the products out there, you prove me wrong! What is a twinklingH2O?
They are a shimmery dry watercolour - I love mine. DreamingInColor
They nearly went out of business last year and had advertised a closing-down sale. I can't remember the ins and outs of the reprieve but I'm glad they are still in business. They are probably my go-to colouring medium.
