I use it for embossing with the SU stamp pads. I stamp in versa mark first then in the color stamp pad I want for example Pink Passion then stamp on CS sprinkle with clear embossing powder and it looks like you used pink passion embossing powder.
It's like having 48 colors of embossing powder. HTH I know this is all jumbled!
I use my clear ep for embossing on coloured card stock - it gives a darker version of the cs colour. Also, sometimes I am adding brayered colour or sponging to the cs so the clear ep will keep those areas the colour of the cs. Like on white glossy for techniques like Joseph's Coat where you "protect" the multicoloured images the cs before you apply black over it.
I use clear embossing powder often, especially when doing the Joseph's Coat technique. Also, you can use clear EP over any craft ink. Then you don't have to have a bunch of colors of EP. I have used VersaMark with clear EP on colored stock for a tone-on-tone look.
By the way, if given the choice, I always buy "detail" embossing powder. There IS a huge difference. If you use regular EP on small words or an intricate pattern, you will not get the crisp detail you need.
This may be kind of weird, but I use it to emboss my craft ink, it seems to dry faster that way! If I just heat emboss the craft ink alone, it still seems to take forever, but the clear embossing powder dries it up real quick and I love that!!
ppofct - you stamp the versamark, stamp the colored ink and then onto your cardstock. That way you don't have to try to match where the stamp went. HTH!!! Karla

I love to use clear embossing powder to help the images stand out on the page... it also makes a pretty background on colored paper when you emboss with Versamrk and clear embossing powder....
In fact, I haven't tried that in so long that I'm going to do it on my next swap....
I just love when I think out loud.....

you can also mix things in with the clear embossing powder, and the powder acts like a glue! i have mixed sand in with the CEP when using the stippled shells. use versamark to ink card where you want sand to be, sprinkle with sand/CEP mixture, and heat.
I loved the look when I mixed in some pearlex with the clear embossing powder, stamped with white craft pad on black - whohoo it turned out nice. I used the blue (I forget the proper word) that turns colors on dark paper.

I use clear embossing powder on the vellum. Any color classic ink stays wet longer and takes longer to dry, so embossing it does wonders for time and really makes the images *pop*
This stuff is great when you can't find just the right color of powder for your project--if you can find a pigment ink that is the right color stamp your image in this color the emboss with clear powder-WAH-LAH now you have the right color! Also works great if you want your embossed image to be two different colors. For exanple, I have a large rose stamp that I like to use a red pigment ink on the bloom but a dark gren for the leaves. I simply apply my cat eye pigment color to each area then after I stamp it I can use clear powder to emboss, looks like a lot of work but it's really quite simple! Hope this helps someone, I'm new here and not quite sure what the protocol is for posting yet
