Default Can someone measure the tan embossing mat?

How thick is it? I googled but I can't seem to find how thick it is. Does anyone know?

I was going to buy a rubber gasket to use, but I don't want to spend $2 to have to go spend $10, you know?

Thanks!

If you are talking about the Sizzix embossing mats, they are 1/16" thick. HTH!

Spellbinders embossing mats are also 1/16".

Just one person's experience with the plumbers gasket mats... I know others have had good luck.

I bought two different brands at Home Depot. They were the correct thickness, but I didn't like the results when I used them to emboss my Nesties.

I ended up getting the tan Spellbinders mat after all. At Hobby Lobby, and used a coupon so it didn't hurt quite so much.

I have been told that using the rubber gaskets won't get you the same results with the Spellbinder dies as the tan mat. It is specifically designed with the perfect density.

I also tried the gasket idea to save money and it was a waste of money :(
The Spellbinder mat has a different resiliency than a rubber gasket and the results are not the same. Buy the Spellbinder embossing mat at Hobby Lobby with a coupon.
The rubber gaskets come in a package of two at Home Depot and Ace Hardware for $3.96. The Spellbinder silicone mat is only $5.40 with a 40 % off coupon.
