Can the QuicKutz dies be used in any other die-cutting machines, such as the Sizzix BigShot/Big Kick or the Cuttlebug? ... Are there any specific advantages to the QuicKutz tool and dies?
I love my quickutz dies, i do have the quickutz machines however. I know right now you can get the hand tool for about 25-30 dollars or the revolution between 40 and 50. I know you are supposed to be able to use them in the big shot (have one but I haven't tried it because I have the other machines). Just a quick note, I love the hand tool for taking places, it's fairly compact and easy to use, as long as you have fairly good strength in your hands.
The Big Shot will cut most of the competitors' dies including QuicKutz. Just use the multi-purpose platform with the dies. The instructions are printed directly on the platform. You can cut six 2"X2" dies in one pass and can also cut their Revolution 4x4 dies.
I can my Quickutz dies in my Cuttlebug but use my Squeeze when I need multiples of a single die cut. It's a lot faster to cut 10 tags with the squeeze rather than running it through the Bug 10 times!
The Cuttlebug is a lot more versatile than the Revolution though.
I have cut Quickutz dies in my Cuttlebug, however I find it easier to use the Revolution for any small projects because it has the magnetic platform and there is no sandwich to put together on the bottom. You just drop the die on, then CS then the cutting mat.
I do still use the CB for QK dies if I have to do a whole bunch of letters at once, but thats pretty rare. I actually just ordered the 12" platform for the Rev. so I don't have to bother with the CB at all.

I agree. I find the Revolution easier to use - no sandwiching to think about. And when I did use my Cuttlebug, I found it would cut some dies that had details in the middle of the die.
