I use double sided tape. Usually a tape runner of some sort. That is if the ribbon is wide enough to apply the tape to it.

Hello, and welcome! You will enjoy it here... enjoy might be light a word. Really becomes addicting!

Ribbon. I usually have layers to my cards, using different colours of cardstock. If I attach ribbon, I apply adhesive behind the paper, wrap my ribbon around and attach underneath. The ribbon lies smoothly on the front and is neatly tucked under.

If I don't have layers for some reason, I either tie it all around the card front and make a bow or make an attractive, hopefully, knot.

Make sense at all??

I always used to use a Xyron X machine but not so much since they changed whatever the adhesive was to something that ... welll, didn't stick.

Double sided tape for me now too. Takes a bit longer and is a bit fiddly but at least it sticks! :-D

I use a glue dot on each end of the ribbon and just wrap it around the edges of the cardstock
hope this helps!

I should add that is for a piece of cardstock that is being layered on top of another piece. If it wil be seen on the backside then I just wrap it all the way around and tie it with a knot or bow.

Xyron X for me. It is relatively inexpensive, very easy to use and works everytime! I LOVE IT!

I usually use Duck adhesive runner - it's clear and easy to put on, and it doesn't matter how wide the ribbon is. It sticks really well!

I use glue dots, they work great on ribbon.

I used to use the xyron as well but I found it started to not stick so well. I'm a fanatic about everything sticking where it should so I started to use red line tape for my ribbon.

I like the thinnest red-lined double-stick tape. Works great for even the thin ribbons.

I buy sheets of double sided adhesive and cut thin strips with my Tonic cutter. That way I can make it narrow enough for even the thinnest ribbon.

I use a tape runner. The trio tape (by judikins) has 3 sizes- and one is small enough for even the thinnest ribbon.

Glue dots are great for ribbon. You can use them to hold the ribbon in pace and then tie it, or just tie a bow and stick it on with a glue dot. I like my Xryon too, but use it more for scrapping (and the adhesive gets expensive!)

Thanks for asking this question, ChicScrapper! I have so much ribbon I dread using because I'm never confident in how I should adhere it to my projects. It's nice to know that double-stick tape does the trick, or even no tape when tying ribbon around the whole front of a card!

I always use my adhesive runner along the back of the ribbon. Just make sure u have scrap paper down so the excess doesn't make ur work surface sticky.

Another vote for adhering the ends to the back of the layer. If I do a straight line or a knot, that's what I do. I use a little adhesive (snail or Scotch Quick Dry) on the back of the card where the end will wrap.

If I do a bow, I wrap it around the entire card. On occasion I'll put a dot of Scotch quick dry adhesive under the knot to keep it secure but I usually don't need to.

Don't forget about stapling (big in the catty right now) and using Hardware!

Hello,

I use snail adhesive on all my cards. Ok, I have only made one card but it sure worked very well. You can see my card by clicking here.

I used a small amount on the ends that wrapped around and attached to the back of the card. I also used a small amount on the front near the middle to hold it down.

I know there are many other methods out there and am sure you will find one that will work for you. The method I used was extremely easy....after I got the ribbon that got stuck to my finger off. I am fine now but it was uncomfortable and I did build up a slight sweat.
