Question Seriously Considering a SLICE.. Help!

I am very interested in getting a Making Memories SLICE...
Can any one tell me how you like yours and what shapes come with the Basics 1 cartridge that comes with it??
If anyone knows where to get a deal on one as well I would love to hear about it..
Thanks so much for your help!!

I'm enjoying my Slice that I bought at Hobby Lobby using a 40% off coupon. This link show the Basic Designs 1 offerings http://www.whyslice.com/Products/det...-1-design-card

Thanks a TON!!! I had a feeling it would not come with many BUT I did want a heart, star, flower. The basics.. I may have to visit our local Hobby Lobby the next time we are in the area... I had seen them on-line at oh my crafts pretty cheap once as well.. HMMMMMM... Will have to see what I get for Christmas now I guess...

You will love it!!

What I've learned:
1. Buy yourself another design card to go with your Basic Shapes 1. The Basic Shapes 1 card has some glitches in it, and being able to compare cuts from another card is helpful. The BS1 has problems cutting the smaller circles and the hearts.
2. The machine does NOT hold a charge when turned off! Don't bother charging it if you won't be able to use it when you unplug it. I usually don't even charge mine. I just use it plugged in, then unplug it when I'm done. If you do need to use it 'cordless' you'll know when the charge isn't strong enough. It won't home right, and it won't cut right. Cuts may be missing edges or slanty/lopsided.
3. There are differences in the cuts in the letters, depending on the size you cut. The larger sizes will be sharp, but the smaller ones may have a circle for the inside of the A, for example. Not a big deal, but it's nice to know. I used the 1" letters on my Christmas cards, and I loved the look! Then I cut out larger letters for my son's science project, and they were just beautiful.
You can PM me if you have any questions!

Thanks Erin. You are sooo SWEET!!
So can you tell me how many shapes or fonts come with the Slice?
I have read some contradicting information.. One shows like 12 and another source says fonts and so forth..

I also would LOVE to purchase one on-line for $100 or less.. But I don't think it is possible. Our closest Hobby Lobby is about 50 miles away and seems like we are always in the area on Sundays.. :(
Any suggestions on ways to strike an Awesome Deal?

Scrap-Mart has the Slice for 30 % off right now....$104.99, and they have free ship.

As Erin mentioned, there is a problem with the smallest shapes (circles, squares) on the Basics 1 cart, so you may want to choose an additional one. Other than the ribbon slides on the Noteworthy cart, I have not (yet) found any more issues with the cuts.

I'm really enjoying mine!

Molly
