Default Are SU ink cartridge refills ok to reink classic pads?

Are ink cartridge refills ok to use to re-ink my ink pads? The colour is the same, but I am not sure if the ink is exactly the same. I don't want to purchase two refills if they are essentially the same thing, but I also don't want to wreck my ink pads.

(I purchased some ink cartridges that came with refills, and I'm sure I have some regular refills that will match up with some of my cartridge colours.)

Thanks in advance!

(I tried to search but couldn't find an exact answer...)

Hmm, maybe I should have said the cartridges are for wheel stamps... sorry about that!

My understanding is this, for what it's worth:

Way back when, when SU sold ink refills for their wheel cartridges and ink refills for their stamp pads, we were informed that we should use the proper refills for each, since the formula was different.

But over time, SU switched over to using stamp pad ink refills for both the stamp pads and wheel cartridges.

My guess would be that you have older refills for the wheel cartridges. If what we were told "way back when" is accurate, then those refills do not have the same formula as the stamp pad ink. I'm not sure whether I would use them on my stamp pads. But the formulas can't be too terribly different, in my opinion.

Use this info in any way you choose...just giving you info on which you can base your choice.

Thanks for the info! Maybe I will try it with one of my doubles in spots and pads and see what happens since I have lots of wheel cartridge refills and it would save me some money.
