Question Help! How do you travel with your supplies?

I am traveling next week for business and I will be incredibly bored in my hotel room. I thought this might be a great time to make some cards and get ready for V-day! Then I started thinking... how do I travel (on an airplane) with my supplies?

I have a great roll-behind bag that I can carry at least a small portion of my things in. However, what do you do about exacto, scissors, cutters, etc.? I'm assuming they probably won't get through security?

I hate to check my bag when traveling but would if I had to. But, would it make it through?

Anyone out there have any experience traveling with their supplies? How do people take their things to conventions, trade-shows, etc?

TIA!

You could stamp some images in advance, and then just take your markers, pencils, or whatever you like to use. That way, you don't need to take much, and can get plenty accomplished. You can assemble your cards when you get back home. I keep a clear box handy with stamped images and pencils and gamsol. I use it when I'm waiting for the car to be serviced, etc.
I've punched some oval scallops and stamped images for coloring.

If you check the airline website that you are traveling with, they all have a list of things that you can carry both in carry-on and checked luggage. I have taken lots of supplies with me when I went to a stamping event, out of state, but anything that was sharp and could be used as a weapon (lol) I just put in my luggage that I checked.

I have had no problem with stowing scissors in my checked bag, but anything like that is currently off limits for carry on AFAIK. Good luck!:-D
