Scor-pal @ Scrapbooking Alley

I just saw the really great prices for the Scor-pal at Scrapbooking Alley and have never ordered from them. Are they a reputable company and are their products 1st quality? I just couldn't get over the fact that their price for a Scor-pal is $ 26.15 plus no S & H. I had never heard of them and they came up on my search.

scrappingmelissa 08-27-2009 06:56 PM

Thats where i got mine. Its perfect. Works Great :)

Sambini 08-27-2009 07:04 PM

I have ordered twice from them in the last few weeks. My last order came by Fed Ex within four days! Definitely on my favorites list. Order with confidence!

Allistamps123 08-28-2009 02:04 AM

I couldn't believe it either!! I realized this about two months ago and they are on my list for a scor-pal also.

gram2boyz 08-28-2009 05:03 AM

Yeah, I just ordered my scor-pal and it came in a few days! Can't beat their prices and service!

RAWS 08-28-2009 05:40 AM

I just ordered from them late last Friday. I got the Scor-Pal, Mat, Glitter Cloth, and an extra scoring tool. It came Tuesday via Fedex. It was nicely packaged and I am loving the products already.

jenjoy71 08-28-2009 05:43 AM

Same here.. ordered from them.. Great prices and great shipping!!

binx 08-28-2009 05:56 AM

Did you know that Scrapbooking Alley is owned by Ritz Camera?

I echo what the others have said about good (and speedy) service. They also have 20% off all scrapbooking supplies until the end of the month.

larue 08-28-2009 08:16 AM

Love this site. Ordered several times--great shipping and great product.

sprtchick 08-28-2009 09:05 AM

I have ordered from them a couple times and been very happy with the service, shipping time and product. I will for sure order from them again...probably very soon..lol
blessings.

magooo 08-28-2009 09:21 AM

Thank you for the reassurance I needed before I committ! I always like to make sure that when using my debit/credit card... it's a reputable business! Looks like everyone has been pleased with their service - guess I'll be getting a Scor-pal by next week!!!

Choc0holic 08-28-2009 09:38 AM

I love Scrapbooking Alley...perhaps a little too much. ;) Their prices on Copics are great too!

cjbapp 08-28-2009 10:25 AM

Another happy shopper @ scrapbookalley

It's great for those things you just need a little of...or like an $8 item and you don't wanna try to hit a higher total for free shipping...it's great for everything!

magooo 08-29-2009 07:01 AM

Well, I bit the bullet and went ahead and ordered my Scor-pal... should get it some time next week!! I love the free S&H!

sarahjean 08-29-2009 09:37 AM

I ordered a huge paper storage container... I actually ordered 2 and they were wood. Heavy as heck! Honestly, you couldn't beat the prices.. .and the shipping wasn't bad either. I will def. be ordering from them again. (Also, SA is actually ritzcamera.. if anyone is curious)

binx 09-03-2009 07:07 AM

Got a red flag for ya (in the process of updating my opinion).

I ordered from them on 8/29 and again on 8/31. The link to track either of these pkgs didn't work. On the 1st, I emailed customer service. In an email written by clearly written by an ESL person, they assured me that my orders were fine (hadn't worried about them before that, was just curious); they included tracking #s.

Got on Fed Ex and found the order placed on 8/31 is on a truck for delivery to Colorado Springs. Lovely for them, but I live in North Carolina - my pkg headed west when it should have been trekking east.

I called the customer service # on the email. It didn't work; got online and found the CS # provided exactly matches the # for faxes on the web site. Did a search for Scrapbookingalley.com in Irvine online. Search got nothing, so I went to the Ritz site and called their customer service.

Got someone who barely spoke English and that with such a thick accent I had trouble conversing with him. He told me that they were correct in sending it Colorado Springs b/c that's what I put. I said "not so,' and offered to email them their confirmation email sent to me showing their record of my (correct) data input.

Because I truly couldn't understand through his accent, I asked to speak to his supervisor. After 21 mins on hold for the elusive supervisor, the line mysteriously went dead. So much for customer service.

So, as it stands, I'm out over $100 and have no one to speak to. When I have a large chunk of time to try again, I will - not mad yet, but sure getting there.....

rj77 09-03-2009 07:40 AM

Binx---sorry you are having troubles. I have only ordered from them twice. Once a few months ago for Nesties, which came quickly, and recently for a scor-pal which is on its way to my house. FedEx shows it will be here tomorrow.

deb_loves_stamping 09-03-2009 10:04 AM

Does anyone know how their shipping to Canada works? I dont see how to purchase something to ship to Canada, although it does say that they ship to Canada. Anyone from Canada ordered from there?

sarahjean 09-03-2009 05:41 PM

Ok, even though I now love them.. I had an ordering issue. I have an interesting last name.. it has a period in it and there system would not recognize it. I got an email telling me I never placed my order and that it is in my cart... well I placed an order! So I called customer service, spoke to Matt and he said everything was ok. I was worried for a week over this order and the day I forgot to worry about it (8 days after placing order) the large package of 100$+ showed up! So hang in there! I think there ordering system sucks.. I will be happy to find that customer service number. I had a pretty good english speaking person.. Not sure if they were American-English but I had no communication issues.

binx 09-04-2009 08:03 PM

Here to update.

I (think) everything is worked out. Enough confidence going to say it is anyway and am grateful for the help I received.

Yes, I got several "normal" (to our ears) sounding names along the way - a "Matt," a "Max" and an "Allen," but the names are bogus; they're intended to give a comfort level to people who might find their real names a little difficult to pronounce. At least that's what Ashid told me. For sure, if you ask where they are (or what time it is on their clock), they'll tell you they're in India. Or at least that was the case with the several to whom I spoke.

>

I finallly got someone with clear English-speaking abilities and, like stated, am confident the order will arrive shortly and well. I was helped by a courteous and thorough person.

So, that said, I remove my flag on shipping/handling. Just thought that was fair since I had objected, KWIM?

magooo 09-10-2009 07:10 PM

Binx, sorry you had such a tough time! I went ahead and ordered mine on a Saturday and received it on Wed. I hadn't even tried to check the tracking... knew it would drive me nuts! I was just concerned bcause their prices are so much less on the Scor-pal, compared to alot of other places and wondered about quality... hoping it wasn't a knockoff or something. I'm very happy with the results!

RJP111 09-11-2009 01:57 AM

I've ordered twice from them. The first time, the ordeer went smoothly and I had my copics well within a reasonable time.

I just placed a second order last Friday. It didn't ship until yesterday. Granted, we did have the long holiday weekend, but I thought that was a bit long between ordering and shipping. Hopefully my order arrives within a few days.

Anyway, I am pleased with that company and will most likely be ordering from them again.

I would like to know about shipping to Canada as well.
Thanks! 8-)

For Canadians

I just went to scrapbookalley.com and ordered my score-pal for 26.15 tax and shipping included. It says they are based in B.C.

Stampin' Annie 09-12-2009 08:00 PM

SO glad I found this thread! I've been holding out on getting a Scor-Pal for the longest time...decided to take the plunge just in time for Christmas cards! :D Thanks for sharing! I hope to order Copics from them soon, too!

kimjolley 09-13-2009 06:27 AM

I LOVE Scrapbooking Alley. I have ordered from them several times with excellent results.

mg 09-13-2009 01:52 PM

Ordered several nesties and shapeabilities. Everything is 20 percent in Sept. and no shipping! Awesome.

rsalamon 09-13-2009 02:12 PM

I am currently a VERY unhappy customer. My first order will also be my last. I purchased a Tonic paper cutter and received it in a good amount of time. No problems there. My problem is that the paper cutter is defective and the communication/response time from them is HORRIBLE!!

I requested an RMA number so I can return the damaged goods for a refund (per their return policy) and was answered promptly the after the first email. They requested further information about the actual order (not the problem with the product) to which I promptly replied. 2 weeks went by without another word from them despite 3 emails from me politely asking for an update. I finally threatened to come onto Splitcoast and 2peas and write about my negative experience with them that they *finally* responded to my numerous emails.

Per their customer service, an RMA number has finally been requested from the finance dept. I'm giving them one week to get back to me with it before I begin my follow-up emails to them. Hopefully they will respond in a timely manner this time around.

Had they answered my email and not let me hang for so long I would have found this process to be annoying, but I would not have been angry about it. Now I'm pissed and I just want my money back.

mtgchic 09-13-2009 02:34 PM

My first order: great, quick shipping.

My second order: I ordered it Aug 30 and still not even a tracking number. The email I just got from customer service was that my order included "EP" product numbers, which ship directly from the manufacturer. Which seems odd, since every product in the store has an EP number! I guess I'll give them a ring-a-ling. Grrr.

Choc0holic 09-13-2009 07:05 PM

I'm sorry to hear that so many have had problems. I've ordered from them a few times and have never had a problem. I never have problems with Joanns either...it appears I'm in the minority with them too. :) Sending positive vibes your way to all those who have had issues...

Hi,
Could you please tell me how you managed to get free shipping? I tried. I had to choose international shipping when I tried to check out. The price for the score-pal was 29.51 CND, shipping 27.23 CND and 3.55 for duty/taxes. The total is a little over 60$ CND for me to order it to Saskatoon.

The shipping is almost as expensive as the Score-pal. That's the only thing I had in my cart. How did you order yours? :)

thescpells 09-20-2009 04:51 PM

I, too, have just had a problem with SA's ordering system over the weekend. I placed an order Sat. morning using the credit card I always use when shopping online. Within a few hours I received a phone call saying that I "did not order using the correct login and password" (not sure what that meant because when I put my e-mail address in my name and address popped up in the respective fields) and the caller wanted to know if my credit card was issued by Citibank because Citibank was saying that they were not the issuer. Huh?
As I said, this is the credit card I use for all online shopping and I've never had a problem. So I'm really not sure what the problem was. The caller was obviously not American, so it's very possible that something was lost in translation. I just told him to cancel the order. He said that he would but I'm going to watch my credit card activity closely!

Thanks for the info Julie. I would be checking my credit card activity too! I hope it's all good.

Well it's been one week since I last posted and have heard nothing from ScrapbookAlley once again. I just sent them a follow-up email so we'll see what they say this time around. Grr.

Does the free shipping over $40 include Canada?

Scor-Pal 09-20-2009 10:18 PM

Yes, free shipping as long as you phone in your order (over $40.00) and you will be charged in Canadian Dollars (Canadian address) $39.95. We recommend getting an extra scoring tool or a roll of Scor-Tape.
