Default Rub-ons and washing

Can glass items with rub-ons be washed? Before I use my rub-ons, I want to know if I can wash the item gently without removing the artwork.

Also... Has anyone used the rub-ons on glossy tile? I'd like to know if you like the effect.

Yeah . . . Me Too! I would love to know how these lil critters work and the washability of items afterwards.

Has anyone tried sealing them with a spray acrylic or covering with CE? Will that make them more waterproof?

I read somewhere that they were for decoration only. You can't wash them. I haven't heard about sealing them, but I don't think you'd want to spray them if you were going to eat or drink out of the item you were spraying.

I'm off to try it. I'll report back.

I'm curious to know too! I love the idea of decorated mugs or even making coasters with them!

I figured they would be "delicate", but I'm curious if I stamp on a use rub-ons on a candle holder if the rub-ons will wipe off when I clean it once in a while. I hate things that are "for looks only", and that's why I stopped stamping on candles.

I went ahead and purchased a couple of cheep holder from the dollar tree, so I'll give it a shot and report back. They also had a few nice "window box" style mini frames (for maybe 3 X 5 photos) that I got in sets of three so I could use rub-ons with those.

OK, girls. I know the answer. Rub-ons cannot be washed - even in mild water. I would even be a bit careful with dusting.

They hold crisp and clear to whatever surface you choose. Very fun on scrapbook pages Be sure to practice with your least favorite pieces until you get the hang of using them. Once you have the feel, they are easy and fun to use!

The SAB catty has a picture of a rub-on on a coffee mug, doesn't it? That's pretty misleading if they can't be washed. I'm glad I saw this discussion before replicating that sample!

Yes, we did coffee mug rub-ons at my demo's last workshop. DH accidentally ran the mug thru the dishwasher, and I now have a perfectly white mug. Oops! I'd say definitely not washable, unless maybe there's a clear gloss heat set enamel paint you could put over it? I think the brand name is Pebeo?

YES! I had the same idea - it looks so cute but if you can't wash it, what's the point??
