roach clips?
HI!
Where can I find roach clips? I have a beaded mono adhesive holder that I'd like to attach with a roach clip. (...did you wonder what I needed a roach clip for?) :p |
The hardware store has them in the electrical department
At least that is where i might have in my younger days found them when i(ahem) might have needed them, LOL;) |
I thought they were called "alligator clips" in the real world?

I SO only read this thread because of the title!!
Sorry I can't be of more help to find some.... |
Roach Clip or Alligator clips can be found in most Hardware stores.
Look in the Electrical department. This is where my dh finds them. At one time I made my own sponge dauber with the Roach Clip. I took a Pencil or a skinny piece of wood stick and place the clip on it. And then added a sponge. |
roach clips
tee hee,...I thought I was the only one who remembered them!!! or at least I think I do...
I found them at my craft store, they all have them, in the jewelry making section, where they have feathers like to make indian dream catchers etc. |
Or as we Medical People like to say - a hemostat!
|
Thanks, everybody! I loked at Mike's but must not have looked in the right place! I wanted to avoid going to Home Depot....
|
Try US ArtQuest - that's where I bought them a couple years ago.

I most certainly did!! I was wondering what in the world does that have to do with stamping. |
But notice how everyone new what "roach" we were talking about. No sweet Polly Purebreads in this thread.
|
You started my day with a laugh! My dh is still laughing over the fact that we all knew what 'roach' clips are.
|
You can also find them in the beading section at Michaels, JoAnns or ACMoore.
|
Thanks again, everyone!
I really am looking for them to use as a clip on for my tape runner! :) |
This certainly caught my eye! The first thing that popped into my head about where to get one is a Head Shop!!
|
Roach clips
Doesn't knowing what roach clips are kind of date us? You'd think we'd been around during the sixties or something!
|
Question??
Do they still use them? I mean other than for what she is thinking of using them for? Haven't heard it mentioned in a while! :)
Of course I never needed one! |
Boogie Records in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Oh, wait a minute. It's 2008 and not 1978! Shhhh. Don't tell anyone mine was cool and had feathers on it. |
roach clips
You mean you only had one? I had to have one to match every outfit..pink, blue,,,that way you were always prepared. (they went with the friendship pins we wore on our sneaker laces)
|

|
snicker snicker!
Can't you just see it now? A whole new market for us crafters - decorated paraphernalia! First, decorated roach clips...then, we move on to bongs (I'm thinking the rub-ons might work here!)...maybe we can stamp the joint paper before we use it! Next thing you know, Cheech and Chong are making a new movie, and we're in it! 'Hey, man, do you think you can decorate my roach clip, man?' LOL! Kathy |
This is a great thread! You ladies have me ROFLMAO!
uhmm, yeah I know what a "head shop" is. There used to be a big one called the Infinite Mushroom that was located by one of the older malls in Orlando. That was an interesting place, no doubt! |
I almost choked on my lunch when I read that...of course I had to read further. Too funny!!!:-D

ROFL - this is just too funny!! and the kids think we don't know anything.
Anywho, I made my applicators out of wood dowels for making furniture, etc. I drilled a little hole in one end with my dremel, put in a drop of wood glue, and stuck in the roach clip, ahem, I mean alligator clip. I stained the whole thing with acrylic paint and coated it with clear krylon. I gave one to all my stampin buddies to hold pom-poms for chalking. When I gave it to them they all looked at the clip, looked at each other, and cracked up. They were trying NOT to admit what they were thinking... ah, honesty always wins out. Thanks for a great thread! |

Thanks for the laugh, this was hilarious!! lmao....Hope you have luck finding them, lol. |
Actually alligator clips aren't the same....they are those black clips with the flip down handles.
Now as to the roach clips.........I was a GOOD girl.......I didn't use those! ;-) Hard to understand how I even made it through High School where most of the kids were smoking pot and half of the parents were dealers.....but hey.....it was Aspen......most of those people had WAY too much money. |
