Default How to put SU stamps on acrylic blocks?

Hello Stampers!
I have the SU set: So Many Sayings, which is basically, 3 blocks with about 12 sayings on each. What I want to do is cut the rubber stamps apart, and mount each individual saying on an acrylic block when I want to use that specific saying. Do I need to get special foam backing? Do I take the current backing off the SU stamp now? I have a small acrylic block, but don't know much about using it yet.
Thanks so much! I look forward to your advice!

You probally need to get the thin ez mount to use on acrylic blocks. It has cling on one side and stickey on the other. That way you dont have to remove the foam off your SU stamps.

Try one first without anything but the rubber. Put a piece of doublestick scotch tape on your block and stick the rubber on it. Be gentle...if you rock or press too hard you may wind up getting ink on the block as well as the stamp itself. I don't have any trouble doing it that way, but some folks can't stand it. That's why I say just try ONE only, lol.

I just have always hated the idea of having to buy more stuff to be able to use unmounted stamps. Makes it kind of expensive that way, kwim?

The other thing I used to do (until I became a demo) was just cut away bits of the paper backing, so only a few spots on the back of the stamp were sticky. They get enough adhesive exposed to cling to the block, but not so much that they become permanently attached. That might be hard to do on such a small stamp, though...

I cut all of my sayings and mounted them onto a set of Dominoes-works great! And they fit neatly into the original clamshell box.

I could never get used to "naked rubber".

I buy my EZ mount at Beeswax

I'ts the cheapest I've ever found.

I have that set too. I bought the EZ mount THIN BLACK cushion. I took them off the SU cushion and put them on the EZ Mount thin cushion. Cut them apart and they now fit in a cd case. By using the thin cushion I get a cleaner image as the narrow ones don't rock like they sometimes do when you use the thicker cushion.

What I do with my unmounted rubberstamps is this... I take my glue stick and rub it on the back of the unmounted stamp stick it on my acrylic block wait a second or two and then stamp. Then just pull your unmounted stamp off wipe it off with a baby wipe or run under water to clean. Wipe the acrylic block off too. This way you aren't wasting a lot of double sided tape. Easy as 1 2 3.
Just my .02 worth.

I have used Aleene's Tack It Over and Over, and so far it works well. It is VERY sticky at first though, so be careful! ;)
