okay, so you all have seen fiskars new knife that holds onto your finger while you're cutting? i must admit when i saw this i thought it looked awkward... but i'm REALLY bad with a regular craft knife, it seems it always wants to slip and not cut where i tell it to. sooooo.... i eventually bought the new fiskars craft knife. it's been sitting on my desk for a couple of months now, and i just picked it up and used it a couple days ago. i cannot tell you the last time i was so impressed with a product. seriously, this knife rocks and i can cut anything out now! if you don't have this knife and can't use a regular craft knife you need to go buy it! sorry to enable, but it rocks!!!!
I bought one of these the other day when I seen it in Target.. I haven't used it yet. I had looked at a cutter thingy at Walmart in the craft dept. but didnt' want to spend $8.00 on it.. I seen Michael Strong demo this Fiskars tool on the web and had wanted to find one.. so I was glad to find it and am glad to read that it's getting good reviews!!

I purchased one the other day. I do like it for the few times I use a blade instead of a cutter or scissors. I still haven't figured out if it comes apart so I can replace the blade. The package doesn't say anything about that unless I am not seeing it.

yes, it comes apart and uses regular fiskars knife blades. just unscrew the metal part beneath the blade and pull it out.
Thanks brightrachel1008. I just hadn't gotten that far. There had to be a way.
SuAnn......I got mine at Michaels, but I also saw it at AC Moore, afterwards! Wish I had gone to AC Moore first. Could have gotten it with a coupon....really cheap that way!

Thanks Patti. I will have to check out Michaels as we don't have AC Moore in my area. :-(
suann, if you happen to be at target they have it in a really cute raspberry color in their scrapbooking section. everywhere else it's the classic fiskars orange. (you know how we scrapbookers are about the color of our tools  )
carole, if you need to cut out small spaces, or for instance I cut around the deer and clouds on some patterened paper the other day to slip a photo in behind so had to use a craft knife for that.
i pulled it out to use while making a card. i was making a fish tank and cut out a circle from acetate, then had to make the top and bottom flat. i was afraid it would slip in my trimmer. i also cut out something that was more involved, but i don't remember what.
I got one of these today at Micheal's! I was going to use the 25% off total purchase coupon they had in the store, but I got it for 50% off! I love it! I used it to cut out a stamped image. Very easy to use!
I think I saw this at ACMoore but hadn't heard anyone use it so I have been waiting to try it. Maybe now i can go back and buy it. I have always been challenged with exacto knives and this sounds simplier to use..
Thanks ladies for your responses on how you are using this new tool. I was wondering about cutting out designs. I've been using my Cutter Bees for this and was hoping this tool might be a better way. I'll have to get one and try it. At Michael's is it in the aisle where the scissors are?
I agree. I had one ever since I saw it being used over on Craft tv weekly. I do enjoy the control and feel of it a lot better than a regular craft knife.

If you like the small orange one that fits over your finger, you have to try the retractable blade one from Xacto, it looks like a pen, it is refillable, the blade is more like the cuzzle blade (it is fixed but very small), you can use it to cut with just like a pen, I even put one of those finger squashy thingys on mine to help with control. Its awesome!
