? re reinking versamagic pads--plus a tip!

First the question: How do you know when you have too much or not enough ink on these pads? The ink is so thick and takes so long to work into the sponge pad. I don't want to over-ink, 'cause I imagine that is a sticky mess....

Now the tip: The bottle says to use the tip of the reinker to work the ink into the pad, but I had one of those fake credit cards ("Your Name Here") and used that to work the ink in and it was faster and easier and appeared to give more even coverage. I'm sure someone else has already thought of this, but I was pretty proud of myself for thinking of it!;)

Thanks in advance for any help with the question!

I have only reinked one of the Versamagic pads and must have added too much ink b/c it is a mess. I would like to hear tips others have as well. Your fake cc tip is a good one!

i agree that the fake CC was very clever!!!

i think my pad is in need of re inking so i too am interested in knowing when enough is enough!

When I reinked mine I did it a little at a time, stamping an image with it as I went seeing how I liked the coverage. HTH!

Thanks, Darcy. I was so hoping there'd be some tried-and-true formula for guestimating when they were "full", but your way makes perfect sense.
