Oooo, wait till you get it. I used mine for some swap cards and it is great because I can use as much as I want on as many cards as I want with no worries. If you got the acid free, that's what I have. Well worth it!
God bless.
I was so psyched when I found the red 714 ATG gun tool in a local LSS. I bought one there for $59.99 and two rolls of tape (the non-acid free kind).
I didn't know the tape wasn't acid free when I bought it- but then I went on that framing website I found out the differences in the tape.
Can you believe I bought another gun and acid-free tape? I did b/c I scrapbook A LOT and would hate the thought of having to change-out tape depending upon the project. I got the red 714 gun, 6 rolls of acid-free tape and the UFO packaging all for about $52.
So, those debating just one gun, know that I love it so much I have TWO guns- one loaded with acid free tape and the other with 'regular' tape for altered/card projects (things I don't expect to last forever). I have them marked with my name and the type of tape since they are both red for easy ID.
Two guns. I have two b/c I love this tool so much!
And it was fun to learn the story behind the framing place. I love supporting Mom & Pop type places!
I am thinking of getting this. How much tape do you use per month lets say? I am trying to decide how many rolls to order initially. My friend tried one yesterday and really liked it, we are going to order together.
Thanks in advance.

I would suggest that you order as much as you can afford. LOL No, seriously though, the shipping is kind of spendy. If you order 12 rolls of tape only, the shipping is (to my address) $9.16. A gun plus 12 rolls is $9.85. A gun plus 24 rolls is $10.29. So.... Buy as many rolls of tape as you can afford to spend right now to save yourself that darn shipping.

I haven't had any issues using the 987 tape regarding stickiness. It bonds paper to paper very nicely!! Once I've pressed down on the paper, it's stuck.

Thanks for the speedy response. I was thinking of buying at least 24 rolls to split between us. Maybe we need to get more. How long does a roll last? IT seems like a lot of tape!

I would think that 12 rolls would last a long time, but it all depends on how much you use it. I can't imagine myself going through a whole 60 yard roll in a month. Well, I think I've had my gun now for maybe two months and there's hardly a dent in the roll, but I haven't been using it too often. I would think my box of 12 rolls will last me for at least one year.

I remember reading a similar thread months ago and there was a lody from...Canada, I think that posted a picture of the ATG gun nest to the Snail runner.
Does anyone know where to find this...?
Really?
Based on all the reviews I was honestly ready to find the website and order one...but it is SOO BIG/BULKY? Is it just as "comfortable" as using the snail or do you just have to get used to it...?
I am so disappointed! My ATG and tape came last night and it was only packed in a plain, brown, stretch wrapped box. How come I didn't get a space bubble like everyone else?
Maybe they ran out of the bubble wrap?? Dang, consider yourself lucky!! The FedEx guy was so comical when he delivered my spaceship.

It's really not too bad. The first time I used it took a few moments to click with my brain. Now I don't even think about it. Well, except that I hadn't used it for a couple of days and forgot to pull the trigger while running the tape across the paper. (That was one of those "duh" moments!) LOL

I love my ATG guns - couldn't live without them now that I have them. Have both the yellow - 1/2 inch tape - and the red - 1/4 inch tape. I'm using it all of the time.
I just did an internet search to find the best price when I got the first one. For the second one I went to one of the Anchor Paper stores in the Twin Cities. I had a 15% off coupon so got my second one and lots and lots of tape!
I received my ATG 714 from framingsupplies.com yesterday and OMG others were right about the bubble wrap. The UPS guy waited for me to unwrap it because he was sure that I had only ordered bubble wrap. I'll be set for shipping supplies for quite a while. As for the ATG, I had to try it out immediately and I LOVE it! I did a quick search on the internet for the best price and framingsupplies.com came in the lowest at $34.62. I even checked Ebay and they were selling for $50+ From what others have posted, I think it will pay for itself in the long run since I can go through a mono adhesive in a day. I'd buy from framingsupplies.com again, just to see the wrapping. LOL!!!!
I just love SCS. I needed to find out about the ATG, which one to buy and where to buy it. This thread told me everything I needed to know. I just ordered mine a few minutes ago. Thanks everyone for your help (and enablement)

Hey Ladies, I was on SCS just browsing and came across this thread. Reading how ya'll rave about this tool and accompaning adhesive I had no choice but to order it. I pictured the product to arrive in a box full of bubble wrap, I had to laugh when I saw how it was packaged. You ladies are right on the money. As far as the product I have not used it yet. I ordered 2 each of the 908, 924, & 987 adhesives. Between the 924 & 987 which do you ladies prefer or which one has the best results?
I can't wait to try this so called great product. I am a firm beleiver in purchasing things that are time savers & user friendly, even if it costs allitte more. There are so many products on the market that are there for the sole purpose of making the $$$$. They usually don't focus on making the product work great.
Thank You Ladies for this great info.

Have you had a chance to try out your new ATG and tapes yet? I think you might be in the best position to test which of the tapes works best. Will be eagerly waiting for your assessment!!
make sure you are zig zagging the end in one groove and out the other, I sometimes tape mine down if it won't stay..and make sure you are putting the lock back on the spool
hope this helps

That can be difficult and I hope the previous poster explained it so that you got it to work. I just bought mine in San Diego yesterday and they showed me how to load the tape. Then I tried. They said I could come back anytime for help. I love this machine. Now do I really need the cropadile??

First of all I want to say I absolutely love SCS. That being said, in the few months I've been on this site, I've been introduced to the Cuttlebug, the Crop-A-Dile, and now the ATG. All of which I HAD to have and so I purchased them (in stages and except for the ATG with 40-50% off coupons) and I do not regret buying any of them. For me, and I think other will agree, they are all a MUST HAVE, a great timesaver and make our projects that much better!
I'm glad that all of you are enjoying the ATG Gun. Not only do I enjoy using it but I happen to work for 3M too so its always gratifying to see that we make a product that is used by stampers and scrappers.
Hey, I drove 30 minutes each way on a very congested freeway, just to have this item in my hot little hands. I am just as bad and purchased 13 rolls of tape. Yikes....but I now love love love it!!!
What enablers! I'm so sick of my mono stuff falling apart, I've been adding the red double stick tape to things! I'm a sucker, because I just ordered one! I had a little bit of garage sale profits burning a whole in my pocket!
