Question for SU demo...
 

Hi,
Just wondering... Is the "In Color" thing a recent addition to SU? How many years have they done it? Also, have there been any changes to the basic color collections over the years? (Earth Elements, Rich Regals, etc...)

There was a major overhaul of the basic 48 colors two, almost 3 years ago (in July). The in-colors were started last year, this being the second set of "in" colors. They will be changing the in colors again in July.

Yup, In Colors change once a year in July. I hope they don't make any changes to the four regular color families; that'd be a lot of new stuff to buy!

Actually, when the colors families were reworked SU offered inkpads, Stampin'Spots and paper packs in ''new color'' combos to help everyone acquire them without blowing the bank!

Oh, I thought they would change the in colors with the new catalogs. Good to know. Thanks!

SU Color Changes
 

In 2000 or 2001 Rocket Red which was more orangey was replaced with Real Red and Lucious Lime was replaced with Creamy Carmel.

Then these was an overhaul or tweaking of colors (mostly rich regals) in 2004 or 2005:

SOFT SUBTLES

Mauve Mist replaced with Apricot Appeal
Mint Melody replaced with Certainly Celery
Bliss Blue to Bashful Blue

BOLD BRIGHTS

Positively Pink to Pixie Pink

RICH REGALS

Not Quite Navy moved to EARTH ELEMENTS, Replace with Always Artichoke
Eggplant Envy to Elegant Eggplant
Forest Foliage to Handsome Hunter
Baroque Burgundy to Bravo Burgundy
Rose Romance to Regal Rose
Marvelous Magenta Replace with So Saffron

EARTH ELEMENTS

Going Gray moved to new NEUTRALS category, replaced with Pumpkin Pie
Basic Black moved to new NEUTRALS category, replaced with Not Quite Navy from Rich Regals

NEUTRALS

Basic Black from EARTH ELEMENTS
Going Gray from EARTH ELEMENTS
Ultrasmooth White changed to Whisper White
Ultrasmooth Vanilla changed to Very Vanilla
Basic Brown was introduced

In 2006 "In Colors" were introduced with:

Cranberry Crisp
True Thyme
Marigold Morning
Cool Caribbean
Buckaroo Blue

Sahara Sand was added to the NEUTRALS category.

the 2007-2008 "In Colors" are:

Blue Bayou
Soft Sky
Wild Wasabi
River Rock
Groovy Guava
Purely Pomegranate

Basic Gray was added to the NEUTRALS category.

I hope this answers your questions about Stampin' Up! color changes. I have most all of the retired colors still.
