Question on the bind it all

OK, so I am going to attempt to make my first book with the bind it all, but as I am designing in my mind a question has occured to me. Is is best to decorate the cover before I punch the holes through the chipboard? If I have paper and ribbon that goes to the bound edge, will the BIA punch through it all?

I would say it depends on which version of the BIA you own. The pink one has a wider slot than the blue one.

My thumps rule: I decorate the chipboard, than use the machine. Only thick embellishement I add after punching, like Charms and brads.

If the holes need to go through your cardstock and ribbon, then definately cover before punching the holes.

I agree with the other posters...I cover the chipboard with my base layer or DP before I punch, or I would just be punching again...most of the other embellies I add after unless it needs the holes through it too.

It's just safer to have the holes in it already instead of messing up primas and other stuff trying to get it in the BIA.
