Changing color of embossing powder

I have an opaque "white" embossing powder that is actually a more creamy color. Since I wanted a true white, I bought a different one. The creamy one, I was thinking of just going with it and changing the color so it was a slightly darker cream shade. Has anyone ever tried mixing a little bit of chalk into the EP? Do you think that would work?

It might work as I have mixed glitter with embossing powder and it worked. I think you would need to ensure you have mostly embossing powder and that the two were very well mixed so that you would not get a large part of chalk in one spot.

Why not give a small quantity a try and let us know?

I've mixed Pearl Ex into my powders. If you're using something that normally needs a binder to make it stick (and chalk would qualify as it does rub off), then you'll need to use more embossing powder than the other item to ensure sticking. I suggest you try making a small amount in a separate container and see how it works on a scratch piece of paper.

I've mixed kool-aid, pearl-ex, and glitter into mine, I've not tried chalk yet I'm going to have to one of these days. Just make sure that you have more embossing powder than chalk. Let us know how it goes for you.
