Problems with Rose Garden thinlits die

I just got my new Rose Garden thinlits die. I'm having trouble cutting the large rose. I can't get the center to punch out. The die doesn't seem to cut deep enough in the center. I tried layering two pieces of card stock to make it thicker. I tried using an almost brand new plate instead of my old worn one and I still have trouble. I'm getting a little disgusted with it. I would appreciate any tips.

I had the same trouble. I finally added some doubled up copy paper and ran it through several times.

Did you try adding the paper shim only to the center are that isn't cutting? Not to the whole die but cut just big enough to only cover the area that isn't cutting.

No.I added the paper shim to the whole area. I will try it just in the middle. Thanks.

When this happens to me, I put layers of masking tape right where the die isn't cutting. I start with one layer and add more layers as need. That way you are shimming just the portion that needs it!

You shouldn't have to be jumping through so many hoops. Call your demo and she can request a new one for you.

Yes it is Copperkids.

I think that is what I should do. I was just wondering if this is a common flaw with this die or if I have a bad one.
