Does anyone know of an online store that sells the plain stamp that you use to reverse a stamped image?
I've tried all kinds of search words, but nothng is working. I can find some blogs that show it being used, but I can't fine a manufacturer other than Rubber Stampede, and I can't find one of those in a google search, either.
I need a pretty big one, and I need it right away, lol!! Thanks for your help!!
I'm not positive but if Stamp laJolla doesn't work out for you (but I'm sure it will) try http://ssl.securesites.com/cart.pl?d...nt=alextamping It is a palette stamp and I believe there is more than one size available as well asa turntable.
Reverse Image Stamp
$12.50
Reverse Image Stamp. This stamp is 4 1/2 X 3 1/4". It reveres or mirrors any image that you want. To reverse an image with this stamp, all you have to do is take and ink up the stamp you want to have reversed, and stamp it directly onto the rubber of this stamp, then take this stamp and stamp it onto paper.
If you have a Stamp-a-ma-jig, you can stamp the image onto the plastic sheet, place it where you want the image, then brayer over it onto your paper. You can also use a piece of acetate. No need to buy a stamp!!

If you're talking about a set of springy type plastic squares that you heat up a bit and press your stamp into, hold as it cools ... I'd try a sample before buying. I picked up a set and the results were way less than disappointing. It's been a while since they left their package, so I can't recall what they were named, but their purpose was to do the reverse stamping. They DO make for interesting background 'textures' tho ... so all was not lost.

oh thank you so much, ladies! Now I will go search those stores to see what else I need, lol! Ellen Hutson did such a nice giveawy with the 12 days of Christmas countdown, and Cornish Heritage Farms has incredible background stamps! The other sites are new to me, so what fun I will have today!
If you are talking about a plain solid red rubber stamp that "supposedly" you stamp it and then stamp it again on paper, then try using a solid shadow stamp. I also have the "blue" foam/sponge and if you use if for a reverse image, know that the image will not be as crisp as the original. I use the blue for making backgrounds. IMO I don't try for reverse images anymore as it just doen's see worth the effort unless I really don't want the same crisp image as with the original stamp.
Stamphappy1650---I agree about the loss of crispness but I have found that by lightly "kissing" the original stamp I can create two images about the same color/clarity......I also deplore the lack of crispness when using the mirror stamp but for somethings---I just really need that mirror.
Also, Michael's carries the large rubber stamp you need to create a mirror image. At least they do in my shopping area.
